PITTSBURGH SPORTS ICONS WILL PRESENT KEYNOTE ADDRESSES AT METALCON
While Pittsburgh’s moniker may be “Steel City,” it is also known as a sports town, home to the iconic Pittsburgh Steelers football team and the 5-time Stanley Cup Champions, the Pittsburgh Penguins. METALCON is proud to welcome two of Pittsburgh’s greatest sports heroes as Keynote presenters on Wednesday and Thursday mornings. Both Keynote Addresses are included in your Total Experience registration.

Named as one of the 100 Greatest NHL Players of all time, Bryan Trottier played a remarkable 18 seasons in the NHL with New York Islanders who drafted him in 1974 and then with the Pittsburgh Penguins. Trottier is ranked 17th all-time in NHL regular season points with 524 goals and 901 assists and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1997.

In his Keynote address, Trottier will share his journey, including the life lessons learned, the importance of leadership, the uniqueness of a team and how it strengthens an organization, the importance of diversity in an organization–diversity of thought, perspective and experience. He’ll even share a few ice hockey stories."

Pittsburgh sports icon, Rocky Bleier―four-time NFL Superbowl Champion and running back for the Pittsburgh Steelers―embodies heroism, determination, teamwork and leadership. He started with the Steelers in 1968, but was drafted by the U.S. Army to fight in Vietnam just one year later. After being seriously wounded, he defeated all odds by bravely rehabilitating himself and regained his running back position. In this session, Bleier will discuss why some organizations dominate and some lose, and he will define the ingredients for “real” success. Framed through parallels to football and Bleier’s personal journey, he will explore both structural and emotional aspects necessary for individuals and organizations to reach their greatest potential.
