Best Method for a Computer Restart

To keep all your daily software programs (including Metron Imaging Software) operating smoothly, make a habit, at least once a week, to close out of all your programs and properly reboot your computer.  

There is some confusion out there on how to shut down or restart a computer. Many computer users believe they can use the power button on their laptops to shut down or restart the computer. 

We are here to help clarify this misconception. Pressing the power button on the laptop only puts the computer to sleep. Doing this will leave everything running the way it was before pressing the power button. If the computer was having issues, this method would not resolve them.

The best method for restarting a computer is to use a mouse, mouse pad, or touch screen and select the Windows Start button on the bottom left-hand side. Then press the power button icon. Windows will present an option to restart or shut down the computer. This method will ensure the laptop has a clean start before opening any additional programs.

With a fresh start to the day, your computer will thank you for the restart by performing better.
