Tech Paper: Hands-on Demonstration Machine Health Monitoring and Diagnostics Using a Cell Phone Video
Wednesday August 3rd 1-2PM
Frame to frame processing of a high-speed video has gained popularity in recent years as a flexible non-contacting means of capturing dynamic time waveforms. Several low frequency faults can be even monitored using cell phone.
In this paper, signal processing methods are used to post-process the vibration time waveforms extracted from a video, and it is shown how data from the order-based peaks in their frequency domain ODS-FRFs are used to diagnose several simulated faults, including misalignment, unbalance, and looseness.
