The Public Commenting Period on the proposed 2025-2026 Low-Income Housing Credit Qualified Allocation Plan, 2025 HOME Annual Action Plan, and 2025 National Housing Trust Fund Allocation Plan (Plans) will close on Friday, March 8, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. CDT.

The proposed Plans and 2025 Comment Form are available for download at www.ahfa.com. All other requests for copies must be submitted in writing to the attention of the Multifamily Division of the Alabama Housing Finance Authority, P.O. Box 242967, Montgomery, Alabama 36124-2967 or 7460 Halcyon Pointe Drive, Suite 200 Montgomery, AL 36117.

When submitting comments please note the following:

• Refrain from comments which include cut and paste text (or redlined/re-worded sections) of the proposed Plans will be rejected. AHFA will not respond (or seek to interpret) to suggested change in language without a complete explanation of the suggested language change.

• Provide full explanatory and careful comments regarding your proposed changes, keeping in mind that your proposed changes might have an unintended consequence for a different project or location in the state.  

• Do not provide any narrative comments, opinions, or questions which do not clearly define an actionable request or are unrelated to the current Draft Plans. Under these circumstances, staff is prohibited from attempting to interpret the commenter’s intent.

• Requests for the addition of new non-AHFA funds should be submitted during this time and should be provided with specific details regarding these funds and their potential impact on a proposed Project.

• Avoid providing comments relating to Application forms. AHFA provides separate commenting periods for Application forms. Comments regarding Application forms will only be reviewed and considered during the appropriate commenting period.

• Remember either documentation, e.g., product information or photos, may also be submitted during this time.

• Any comments received after the close of the commenting period, Friday, March 8, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. CDT., will not be considered for review.
