If your prefer a written process, then simply follow the steps below:
1) Log into your district portal.
2) Search for "MFA" using the search option in the upper left corner.
3) Click on the MFA Tile to engage the process
4) Review the pre-populated information in the 3 boxes on the right.
5) Add a backup email address and mobile phone numbers in the last two boxes. You'll need to click the small icons above the boxes near the right end of each box to activate the box, then click the same icon again to finalize the entry.
6) Look for "Click here for alternative MFA method" in the lower, center area of the page and click on it.
7) Add any special delivery instructions, such as a specific delivery location, in the box/space provided. Then click "SUBMIT TOKEN REQUEST". You will then see a box with the following message near the bottom: "Thank you for submitting your ticket!"
When your token arrives, come back to this email and follow the instructions below to log into your portal using the token:
Set up your Thales Token
"How to use Thales FIDO Token to log into district portal (For the end user)
1. Go to https://mysdpbc.org/
2. Enter your SDPBC username and click the GO button
3. Enter your password and click the GO button
4. A Windows Security popup should appear. Plug your Thales FIDO token into a USB A slot
5. Touch your Thales FIDO token anywhere on the chrome ring towards the end of the device. This is touch sensitive and does not require a button to be pressed. This should complete your login. You may now remove the token for use on other machines."
For those who may have been concerned about needing to have your portal active on multiple devices during the day, you now know that you can use 1 token to log into your portal on other machines at the same time.
After reading/viewing all of this, if you would like to change your MFA Method, here's what you need to do:
1) Re-engage the MFA tile in your portal
2) Use the information above to request your token and wait for it to arrive.
3) When you receive your token, re-engage the MFA tile again. Once there, locate the drop down arrow for the option you currently active for you, and click
4) Go to the drop down arrow for the "Enable" message for that option and click.
5) Toggle that option off.
6) Set up your token option using the steps in the green message above. This should complete your set up.
I encourage you now to engage the token process sooner rather than later. The information I've seen speaks of a 2 to 3 week turnaround to get the token delivered. I made my toke request earlier today, so time will tell. Given that turnaround time, be sure to allow for that so you receive your token ahead of the November 1 deadline.
I sincerely hope this process goes as easily as it did for me! (only about 5 min). If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out. If you know any member who did not receive this message, please have them reach out to me at gordan.longhofer@floridaea.org
In Solidarity,
Gordan Longhofer - CTA President
