Dear MFHS Families,

Welcome to the start of Semester 2! I hope you and your students had a refreshing break and are ready to dive back into the energy and opportunities that define Menomonee Falls High School.

The second half of the year always moves quickly, and we are committed to finishing the school year strong. Whether your student is looking to improve their GPA, get more involved in clubs, or prepare for their next steps after graduation, our staff is here to support them every step of the way.

To help you plan, please take note of these important upcoming dates:

Important Upcoming Semester 2 Dates

• February 13: Pep Assembly – A day to celebrate our school spirit and student achievements.
• February 20: No School – Staff will be participating in a Professional Inservice day.
• March 11: MFHS Career Day – A fantastic opportunity for students to explore various industries and network with local professionals.
• March 18: ACT / Pre-ACT Testing Day * Grades 9, 10, and 11: Mandatory testing on-site.
• Grade 12: No school (Senior day off).
• March 30 to April 3: Spring Break

Unexcused Tardy Expectations

As we begin the second Semester of the 2025-2026 school year, we are committed to ensuring that every student has opportunities to learn and engage. A major factor in academic success is consistent attendance. Regular, on-time attendance helps reduce stress, makes it easier to connect with friends and teachers, and supports academic goals. Missing just two days of school per month can negatively impact a child’s progress toward graduation (AttendanceWorks.org). Prompt arrival helps ensure that students do not miss valuable instructional time and supports a respectful and productive learning environment. We would like to review expectations and consequences related to Unexcused Tardies (TUNs).

MFHS HISTORY MADE!

Mya Overholser absolutely crushed the Microsoft Word Certification Exam, earning a PERFECT score of 1000! She is now one of only THREE students in MFHS history to achieve a perfect score on a Microsoft Certification Exam—joining Cameron Bolyard (Word) and Dylan Savage (PowerPoint).

This outstanding achievement has all but secured her invitation to the Microsoft U.S. National Championships! Way to go, Mya—you’re setting the bar sky-high and making MFHS proud! 🚀👏

A Holiday Tradition from Spain Comes to MFHS



Before winter break, Spanish 3 students learned about a unique Christmas tradition celebrated in northern Spain called Tió de Nadal, also known as the Christmas Log. After exploring the history and cultural significance of the tradition, students created their own Tió de Nadal as part of a fun “nailed it” competition. Students from other classes visited and voted on their favorite Tió de Nadal. ¡Excelente trabajo!

The Best Day of the Year!

Students in Info Tech classes created children's books on their way to mastering the content for their upcoming Microsoft Word certification exam. They then walk over to Ben Franklin Elementary to read their books to the 1st and 2nd graders

MFHS Student Artwork on Display at Fiddleheads



Menomonee Falls High School Painting 1 students are currently on display at Fiddleheads Coffee Roasters in Menomonee Falls as the artists in residence. This exhibition showcases our students’ creativity and artistic growth while connecting their work with the local community. The display highlights the strong work being done by our students and emphasizes the value of arts education at MFHS.

Josh Mims Named Pick 'n Save Student Athlete of the Week

Josh Mims was selected as the Pick ’n Save Student Athlete of the Week through The Big 920 AM. Pick ’n Save recognizes high school athletes for outstanding achievements in both athletics and academics.

Josh maintains an impressive 4.6 GPA and was selected to attend Badger Boys State. He was also one of just two students chosen from more than 650 participants to represent Wisconsin at Boys Nation in Washington, D.C.

Spanish 4 Brings Reyes Magos to Life!



Spanish 4 students learned about the Reyes Magos tradition and how it is celebrated in Puerto Rico. To celebrate, students created original gift collection boxes and made Rosca de Reyes, bringing cultural learning to life through hands-on activities.

MFHS Students in the Bebras Computing Challenge

A Lasting Legacy: Felix Gunter's Math Hallway Mural

It's finished! Recent graduate Felix Gunter has completed their stunning mural in the math hallway, and it looks amazing. Huge shout-out to Felix for leaving such a lasting mark on our school!
