Lend a Hand
It's been a tough few months. Despite the exceptional conditions small businesses in particular are facing, many of MGCC’s borrowers are finding innovative opportunities not only to survive but to make a difference amid the COVID-19 pandemic. As we continue to stay in touch with our borrowers every day, we have been uplifted by the stories we’ve heard, and would like to share a few with you.

Based in Fall River, Vanson Leathers is an iconic brand known as the leading manufacturer of high quality, handcrafted American made leather motorcycle jackets.

The manufacturer has stepped up to aid in the relief efforts by switching production to re-usable, washable cotton face masks. These masks are available to purchase in assorted colors and constructed of two layers, each layer being 152 grams, exceeding the International Red Cross specs. To date, Vanson Leathers has produced 38,432 masks as it continues to keep up with demand.

Bainbridge International is the oldest company in the world to offer sailcloth for recreational sailing for over a century, since 1917. The sailcloth manufacturer creates products and solutions for marine fabricator, awning and sailing industries.

Bainbridge has been focused on supplying products to a variety of industries to help protect its workers, including fabricators to make face shields, clear glass safety screens and fabrics for gowns.

MGCC provided Bainbridge a term loan allowing for the acquisition of the business from a private equity group.
