New Cybersecurity Resource from Food and Ag-ISAC
By NGFA
Cyber threats are a growing concern for agribusinesses of all sizes, and the Food and Agriculture Information Sharing and Analysis Center (Food and Ag-ISAC) has released an updated Cybersecurity Guide for Small and Medium-Sized Businesses to help. The guide offers straightforward, low-cost practices that companies can implement today to improve their defenses. It draws from real-world data showing that 88 percent of cyber threats in the sector involve phishing and that 92 percent exploit existing software tools already inside networks.
Key recommendations include:
• Train your team: Security awareness programs can reduce the chance of human error by up to 30 percent.
• Use multi-factor authentication: A simple, cost-effective way to thwart unauthorized access.
• Back up critical data – offline: Especially important for operations where downtime can lead to spoilage or missed deliveries.
