MGP Acquires D.C.’s New Columbia Distillers
MGP Ingredients, Inc. announced the acquisition of New Columbia Distillers LLC, based in Washington, D.C. New Columbia Distillers produces and markets Green Hat Gin and operates a distillery with retail tasting room, bar and gin garden in Northeast Washington, D.C. The distillery and its retail operations will continue to operate with the current management team, and its popular range of Green Hat Gin styles will be phased into expanded distribution as a new addition to MGP’s portfolio of award-winning brands. Westward Whiskey Celebrates International Women’s Day
To celebrate International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month (March), Westward announces a charitable program to celebrate the women of Westward and the brand’s commitment to female leadership. Launching on March 8, this first-of-its-kind program will benefit breast cancer research through a partnership with Speed Rack, an organization that has raised more than $1 million for this cause to date. (CraftSpiritsMag.com)

Santa Fe Spirits to Host Cocktail Class on Irish Coffee
Santa Fe Spirits of Santa Fe, New Mexico, will host the next in its Cocktail 101 Series on March 14 at its downtown tasting room. Tasting room manager Todd Walker will be teaching all about one of the distillery’s favorite cold-weather libations, the Irish Coffee (or, as Santa Fe Spirits likes to call it, the Colkegan Coffee). Firefly Distillery Raises More Than $21,000 for Hurricane Dorian Relief
Firefly Distillery of North Charleston, South Carolina, has announced that it raised more than $21,000 to support Hurricane Dorian relief efforts through a campaign that ran through Jan. 31. When Hurricane Dorian struck the Bahamas in September, the founders of Firefly Spirits watched in horror. The small island of Abaco is home to Firefly Sunset Resort, owned by Firefly cofounder Jim Irvin and his wife Ann.  (CraftSpiritsMag.com)
