HELPING FAMILIES ACCESS THE CHILD TAX CREDIT

AND OTHER TAX BENEFITS

The GETCTC (Child Tax Credit) makes it easy for families with low or no income to get the flexible cash they deserve. The new portal is free, mobile-friendly, and available in English and Spanish.

Families are eligible for thousands of dollars from the Child Tax Credit and other tax benefits this year. A family of four with low income who didn’t file last year could get nearly $20,000 in tax benefits - but only if they file a return.

Help to access the Child Tax Credit and other tax benefits including stimulus payments are now available. To learn more, visit the website at GETCTC.ORG.

JOIN THE FAMILY SELF-SUFFICIENCY PROGRAM TODAY!

FSS is a voluntary employment savings incentive program designed to assist families in becoming economically independent and self-sufficient within a five-year time frame. It enables HUD-assisted families to increase their earned income and reduce their dependency on welfare assistance and rental subsidies.

Participation guidelines:

  • No cost to participate
  • Receive one-on-one case management support and resources to achieve goals
  • Escrow savings account is established when earned income increases
  • MHA rewards the participant by placing monies into an escrow account as long as your earned income remains higher than you began the program.

Our FSS Program Coordinators develop local strategies to connect participating families to public and private resources to increase their earned income and financial empowerment, reduce or eliminate the need for welfare assistance, and make progress toward economic independence and self-sufficiency.

To learn more about the program or to join, contact 334-593-9620 or email bcooper@mhatoday.org
