February 9-11 - Wisconsin Garden Expo - Buy tickets . Stop by at the MHAAA booth #410 . Posters, note cards, and raffle tickets will be available for sale. Enter to win door prizes each day of the Expo! NEW THIS YEAR - We are showcasing an "ART BOX" full of garden-theme art as a special prize. Only those visitors who pick up the specially marked Spring Art Tour brochures during the Garden Expo will be eligible to win this prize during this year's Spring Art Tour (June 1-3). Annual Raffle - This year's 1st Prize is John Pahlas' sculpture, "Prairie Conquest" (shown here) valued at $300. 2nd prize is $100 and 3rd prize is $50. Tickets available for purchase ($5 each or $20 for 5) at booth #410 during the Wisconsin Garden Expo.

It's the time of year when we begin our search for another worthy high school senior - from within our Spring Art Tour area schools - to receive our $500 Art Scholarship Award. Senior students from the following high schools may apply: Mount Horeb, Verona, Wisconsin Heights, Sauk Prairie, River Valley, Pecatonica, and New Glarus. 14 South Artists are organizing a fine art fair for this spring. There will only be 30 spots available and they are opening up applications to area artists. The fair will take place on April 21st from 10am-4pm. It will be located at the Masonic Temple, 301 Wisconsin Avenue, Madison.  Application and more details. Applications are due February 28th.

Holly Waterman, the state judge coordinator for a high school competition called Visual Arts Classic is looking for more individuals to help with judging their state competition on Friday, April 13th at UW Madison campus. There are several different categories in which you can judge in from sculpture, ceramics, painting, drawing, photography (digital and traditional), art history, personal adornment, videography, etc.
