2018 SPRING ART TOUR THANKS!

We owe a big thank you to everyone who helped to make our 2018 Spring Art Tour a success; artists, visitors and sponsors! We hope to see you again next year on the first weekend in June 2019.
MHAAA POT LUCK

Every year following our Spring Art Tour we have a party. At this party we have a meeting to discuss all that worked well and what we need to do to improve our next Spring Art Tour. Tamlyn will also provide us with some data that will help us make decisions about the next tour's marketing direction. Beyond that, it's all about relaxing and having some fun together. This year's party will take place at Tamlyn's home (see details below).

WHO: All MHAAA members and their families are welcome.
DATE: Saturday, June 23rd
TIME: 6-9 PM
PLACE: Tamlyn's house (come check out the kitchen remodel); 4629 County Rd. JJ, Black Earth
RSVP: Yes, please let Tamlyn know if you are coming and any folks you are bringing with you! Call or email: 608-767-1281/ tamlyn@chorus.net .
DIRECTIONS: The house is at #4 on the Spring Art Tour map .
WHAT TO BRING: A dish to pass and whatever you would like to drink.
OFFICERS FOR YEAR 2018-2020

At our last quarterly MHAAA meeting we determined that some of our officers are willing to continue their volunteer work as follows for the next 2 years.

  • President - Heidi Clayton
  • Vice President - Tamlyn Akins
  • Secretary - Julie Raasch (newly designated)
  • Treasurer -

We are still seeking someone to step into the position of Treasurer. Treasurer's duties are straight forward and minimal. Ability to use Quick Books will be helpful but is not essential. According to our By Laws the Treasurer's duties are as follows:

12.2 The Treasurer shall:

Have charge and custody of and be responsible for all funds and assets of the Organization;

Receive and give receipts for monies due and payable to/from the Organization from any source whatsoever and deposit all such monies in the name of the Organization in such financial institutions as shall be designated by the Board of Directors;

Provide a financial statement to the Board of Directors of the Organization's financial affairs as required by said Board (usually 1-2 times annually). A single signature of the President, Vice-President, or Treasurer, or such other individual as may be authorized by the Board of Directors, shall be required on a check. Any officer in need of reimbursement is required to get another officer's signature on a check;

In general, perform all duties incidental to the office of Treasurer and have such other duties and exercise such other authorities as from time to time may be delegated or assigned to him/her by the Board of Directors.

If you are willing to do this job please let us know ASAP.
COMMITTEES FOR YEAR 2018-2020

Every 2 years we also create new committees. We've been very loose about our committees in the past but would like to firm them up. Please let Heidi ( hac731@gmail.com ) or Tamlyn ( tamlyn@chorus.net ) know if you are willing to continue through 2020. Our committees are currently as follows:

  • Spring Art Tour Selection - Tamlyn Akins (Chair), John Pahlas, Sue Medaris, and Margie King
  • Publicity - Tamlyn Akins (Chair), and Julie Raasch
  • Fund Raising - Tamlyn Akins (Chair)
  • Exhibition - Julie Raasch (Chair), Jane Varda, Karen Watson-Newlin, and Louise Kubista
  • Scholarship - Heidi Clayton (Chair), Karen Watson-Newlin, Luci Shirek, and Vicki France
  • Membership - Louise Kubista (Chair)
  • Acknowledgement - Louise Kubista (Chair), and Aimee Gauger
  • Spring Art Tour Signs - Vicki France (Chair), Louise Kubista, Kathy Ford, and Rick Ross

As you can see some of our members are doing yeoman's work. It would be great if other members would help lighten their load. If your name is not on any committee, please consider volunteering.
