Are You Between the Ages of 15-26 and Interested in Mental Health Advocacy?
Be part of a statewide advocacy project by The California Youth Empowerment Network (CAYEN), a program of Mental Health America of California (MHAC).  CAYEN will be collaborating with the Slavic Assistance Center in Sacramento and is looking for youth leaders to build awareness and advocacy around mental health in the Slavic community.

All About The STAY

The Capital Star Crisis Residential Program (CRP), called The STAY, that serves TAY and young adults ages 18-29 is now open at 3815 Marconi Avenue in Sacramento. Up to 15 residents are able to stay for up to 30 days. Residents will receive counseling and services that support their transition to housing, employment, education and ongoing care.  The STAY responds to a huge need for TAY and young adults, many who have a mental illness like depression, anxiety, or PTSD and need treatment to help them through a rough point.  CRPs are lower level, unlocked, voluntary facilities, and clients do not need an acute level of care requiring hospitalization.

ADHD and COVID-19 - Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)
Guidance for Uncertain Times

Amid the uncertainty of this novel coronavirus global pandemic, everyone in our community is facing tremendous pressures, and CHADD and its National Resource Center on ADHD are here to help. We are committed to continuing to be the ADHD resource on which you can rely. Concern about COVID-19 can cause stress, anxiety, and sleep difficulties, especially for those affected by ADHD. We hope the following resources will help you.

The  goal of Monumental Moments™ is to foster the spirit of togetherness and support for people in the mental health community - along with those in the general public - who have experienced a heightened sense of anxiety and stress during this very challenging year of social distancing and unrest. The program's microsite, MonumentalMoments.com, will serve as the platform where people can learn more about the initiative, how they can participate, and be connected to a variety of mental health resources.

Yes on Prop 25 Coalition - Tweetstorm!

Tweetstorms are organized social media events. The goal is to get as many people posting at the same time on an issue in order to get it trending and raise the profile of the issue.

If you would like to participate, on Monday the 26th any time from 12:00 - 1:00, choose from one of the sample posts below, click the link, and tweet out your support! You can also use the Toolkit: Messed Up Money Bail Monday which includes graphics and sample posts.

Vote #YESonProp25 to replace a money bail system that unfairly grants freedom only to those wealthy enough to afford it - even if they are dangerous - with a system that prioritizes safety and justice for all. It's time to #EndMoneyBail.

Want to end discrimination in our justice system? It's time to stop criminalizing poverty and people of color by getting rid of money bail. Let's choose a fair and unbiased system by voting #YESonProp25 in November.

California's money bail system wastes $5 million dollars every day keeping people accused of low-level crimes locked up - just because they can't afford to buy their freedom. Vote #YESonProp25 for a fair and affordable justice system.
