Vote for Mental Health - Renew the Levy!

We are counting down the days until Election Day - Nov. 3!

Every 5 years, the board requests a levy renewal, which provides nearly 60% of our annual budget. We are requesting a renewal of current funding - this will not increase tax rates.

The levy funds critical services such as:

  • Crisis response
  • Prevention
  • Treatment and recovery
  • Community safety

By law, every levy dollar stays in Warren and Clinton counties and can only be used for mental health and addiction recovery services.

Early voting ends Sunday, November 1!

Shape MHRB's Strategic Plan

We are developing our next five-year strategic plan.

As part of this process, we are seeking feedback from community partners, service providers, and other stakeholders to help identify priorities, opportunities, and areas for improvement in the behavioral health system across both counties. Your perspectives will help inform the MHRB's priorities and guide its work over the next five years.

To help us collect feedback, our consulting partners have developed the following brief survey. The survey is anonymous and should take approximately 5–10 minutes to complete.

Responses must be submitted by Monday, November 9, 2026.

MHRB Updates

MHRB honors World Mental Health Day 2026

MHRB staff and friends honored World Mental Health Day by sharing reasons that they stay alive.

New Grant Award

MHRB was awarded a $284,220 grant from the OneOhio Recovery Foundation to support its efforts to address substance use disorders and strengthen prevention, treatment, recovery, and community resilience initiatives. The grant will go toward the project, "Reducing Marijuana-Related Harms on Children from Prenatal Stages Through Adolescence," and will expand evidence-based prevention education, training, and early intervention efforts designed to help parents, pregnant women, caregivers, and young people better understand and decrease high-risk marijuana use, while strengthening healthy child development. A press release will be published soon.

Growing HOPE

18 individuals across MHRB's provider network recently completed the HOPE (Healthy Outcomes from Positive Experiences) Facilitator Training, thanks to funding via the Strong Families Safe Communities grant from the Department of Children and Youth. 14 of the 18 are officially certified, and the remaining 4 are expected to complete certification. The HOPE framework promotes Positive Childhood Experiences (or PCEs) and centers around four building blocks: relationships, environment, engagement, and emotional growth.

Facilitators will connect their training into existing programming, explore opportunities to promote the framework to the community, and help train others so HOPE continues to spread. Learn more about HOPE here, or contact Jessica Woody, Mental Health Director at Warren County Educational Service Center - jessica.woody@warrencountyesc.com.

October Board Meeting

Our recent board meeting took place at the Wilmington Public Library, where we learned more about the Clinton County Resource Center (CCRC). Located in the heart of downtown Wilmington at 94 N. South St., the CCRC provides quality programming to youth and families in Clinton County and allows youth to learn from mistakes, make positive choices moving forward, and avoid unnecessary penalties through diversion programming. MHRB funds their Service Liaison position, ensuring youth have access to a licensed counselor.

The CCRC welcomes visitors and is currently seeking resources and volunteers to support programming. Learn more at their website.

Crisis Intervention Team Training

13 law enforcement officials from Mason, Warren County, and Clearcreek recently completed CIT training, enabling them to effectively help individuals they encounter who are experiencing a mental health crisis. Training consists of communication skills, de-escalation techniques, and more so that people can receive the right care at the right time, ensuring proper care while also diverting folks away from more resource-intensive responses.

The next CIT training will be held in April - reach out to us with any questions.

November is Open Enrollment Month

Important information for Medicaid-eligible individuals:

November is Open Enrollment Month, and the Ohio Department of Medicaid has begun sending letters to members explaining their options for selecting a Managed Care Plan. Managed Care Plans are private health insurance organizations that partner with the Ohio Department of Medicaid to coordinate care, provide care management, and support members’ health needs. However, people can change plans now until November 30th.

Individuals who want to keep their current Medicaid Managed Care Plan, such as CareSource, do not need to take any action during open enrollment.

Individuals who would like to switch Managed Care Plans may do so now through November 30, 2025.

This is the time to select a managed care plan.

How to Select CareSource or Get Assistance:

Hours: Monday–Friday, 7 a.m.–8 p.m.; Saturday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m.
