Opiate Addiction Update

Heroin and other opioids continue to be a major challenge in Ashland County.  The Ashland County "Target Action Group" on opioids recently developed an information flyer to assist persons struggling to get help as well as friends and family members of those struggling. Please Click Here to view/download the brochure on the Board's website.

Drop-In Listening Session for
Veterans & Family Opportunity!!
Listening sessions are FREE, confidential, One on One, opportunities for veterans to share about experiences in the military and since coming home. It's not an interview, it is not therapy. It is our hope that you will find it beneficial to share with a civilian volunteer who is there specifically to listen carefully, respectfully & confidentially.

4th Annual Veterans Appreciation Day!

Join us at the Ashland County Airport for the 4th Annual Veterans Appreciation Day, Saturday, August 12th.  Opening ceremony at 12:30pm.  Come see the beautiful C47 from the Yankee Air Museum! Entertainment all day with Gen. Patton, USO Show with Bob Hope impersonator, complimentary cook out and fireworks to end the day!

Family and Children First Council Update
Amy Frese has been hired by the County Commissioners to coordinate the Family and Children First Council. Amy brings a lot of passion to the position and has a strong commitment to doing what she can to support the families and children of our community.

10th Annual Pat Risser RSVP Conference
On October 4th of this year we will be holding our 10th Annual Pat Risser RSVP Conference, with Internationally known Hearing Voices Network, Keynote Speakers Ron Coleman & Karen Taylor. Multiple breakouts include Understanding & Altering Trauma's Impact on Self-Esteem, Finding Your Voice by Writing, Mindfulness and Aromatherapy in the Recovery Process and more. CEU's will be offered for Counselors and Social Workers.  

An average of 125 people come from all over the state of Ohio to hear a combination of testimonials from individuals in recovery, solid research that supports recovery and Trauma-Informed Care, and innovative methods to encourage and ensure recovery make each year's conference a success.
