SOME NEW FACES
A native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Dr Singleton earned her Doctorate in Philosophy in Instructional Technology from the University of Georgia (2006).

Over the past 11 years Ernise has been employed with the Louisiana Department of Education (LDOE). During this time she has provided oversight with several innovative programs including online professional development, school turnaround efforts, and grants management.

Ernise currently serves as the Strategic Communications Manager for the Office of Student Opportunities.

Tony Trongone joined Pemberton Township Schools as superintendent in July 2015. Previously he served as superintendent of schools for Berlin Borough and Gibbsboro Public Schools, a post he held for five years.

Trongone earned his master’s degree in Educational Administration from Wilmington University and his BA in Mathematics with honors from Rutgers University.

He subscribes to the theory of “high challenge with high support,” believing all students can learn and it is the responsibility of educators to support students in reaching their fullest potential.

In accordance with Article VI, Section 1 of the Bylaws for the Military Interstate Children’s Compact Commission (MIC3), and the Government in Sunshine Act, 5 U.S.C. § 552b, the organization hereby gives notice of the Annual Meeting of the Commission:

Challenging season for military families
Kiera Gallagher,  M.Ed , is a teacher at Albritton Middle School at Fort Bragg and an Army spouse.
The summer is still in full blossom, yet just around the corner is the annual rite of “back to school,” a period that can be fraught with anxiety for children and parents alike, but none more so than U.S. service members and their school-age children.

North Carolina-based service members have some 125,270 dependents in tow, many of whom are school-age.

Back to school” can carry particular trepidation for military-connected children, because they move so frequently. Change and challenge are constants for military kids, especially when it comes to transitioning out of old schools and into new schools.
