Feminists Choosing Life of New York is reclaiming feminism! FCLNY accomplished much this year, and we have done so because of you! Your support is vital.

Please see our website and below for highlighted 2021 activities. We need your financial help to implement crucial on-going and upcoming projects.

Pro-choice interests, especially here in NY, are pushing hard to maintain and expand policies that dehumanize, exploit, commercialize and kill human beings.

FCLNY is NY’s pro-life feminist voice! We will not give up. We will not stop educating. All New Yorkers need to know and take action against the horrors of abortion policy and other violent, anti-life policies and practices in NY.

FCLNY is fighting on your behalf.

Please join us at our 4th Annual Celebration Dinner, on September 16th. Our 2021 keynote is the incredible Senator Katrina R. Jackson, whole-life advocate extraordinaire, the LA State Representative that’s changing the world and turning the tide for justice.

If you can’t join us please donate so a student can. Please also consider sponsoring our annual fundraising dinner. To get your tickets, obtain a program ad or to serve as an FCLNY sponsor, go here on Eventbrite or send us an email.

You can also donate to FCLNY by mailing a check or by utilizing our donate button below.

FCLNY IS REVVING UP TO LAUNCH

A STATE-WIDE BILLBOARD CAMPAIGN

Two Billboards, Four NY Regions

The Goal: Stop the Violence,

Repeal NY’s Reproductive Health Act (RHA)

The RHA endangers women’s lives, incentivizes violence against pregnant women and allows for increased killing of unborn children, by abortion. Let’s work together to protect mothers and their children in utero. For more information about NY’s RHA and to sign our petition seeking its repeal, please go to our Legislative Advocacy page

A PEER SUPPORT GROUP FOR WOMEN EXPERIENCING TRAUMA, INCLUDING THE TRAUMA OF ABORTION AND DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

The Goal: Stop the Violence,

Help Bring Healing to Brutalized Women

Together with two other non-profits, Angels of Mercy and the Margaret Home, FCLNY will directly educate women about the cycle and impacts of violent trauma, including abortion, as well as provide tools for empowerment.

FCLNY LAUNCHED

THE NY RHA LAWSUIT EDUCATIONAL CAMPAIGN

The Goal: Stop the Violence, Spotlight the RHA Legal Challenge

As you know, FCLNY organized a team of legal scholars to research the impact and legality of NY’s RHA, shortly after the law was enacted. We connected members of this team with the Women’s Alliance Against Violence/Thomas More Society (WAAV) to potentially litigate the RHA, and they have!

Earlier this year, FCLNY let the WORLD know that victims of domestic violence and others filed a class action lawsuit challenging the US Constitutionality of NY’s RHA.  The RHA lawsuit is an on-going uphill battle, with motions filed and responded to by both sides. The plaintiff-victims are represented by acclaimed attorneys Teresa Collett, Esq. and Christen Civiletto,Esq., both serving as special counsel to WAAV.

WAAV confidently proceeds forward, prepared to take the matter all the way to the US Supreme Court. FCLNY is poised to continue keeping everyone informed on the status of this historic legal action, a lawsuit which represents “the first time a New York abortion law is being challenged for violating both women’s rights and the rights of children, including children in utero.” Please see our website for media coverage of this landmark lawsuit, including in Newsweek and National Review. Only days ago we were on NPR, discussing the lawsuit and the impact of the RHA.

A HUMAN TRAFFICKING AND DOMESTIC VIOLENCE HOTLINE CAMPAIGN

The Goal: Stop the Violence, Post the Trafficking and

Domestic Violence Hotline in EVERY NY Healthcare Facility

Healthcare providers are “one of the few professionals likely to interact” with victims of trafficking and domestic violence (DV), women who experience forced abortions. Hotlines help release women from coercion and abuse! NY neglects to require a multitude of healthcare providers, including numerous Planned Parenthoods and other abortionists, to post a trafficking hotline. NY fails to require ANY healthcare facility to post a DV hotline. Only weeks into our campaign, we discovered several healthcare facilities, including certain abortion providers that ARE required under NY law to post the trafficking hotline— lack compliance, and NOT ONE (of the 20 or so facilities we’ve visited thus far) had posted, even voluntarily, the trafficking or DV hotline.

Victims of human trafficking and DV are in the waiting rooms of healthcare facilities across NY, especially women’s healthcare and abortion providers. Every woman and girl deserves access to the human trafficking and DV hotline. Please stay tuned for more on this groundbreaking project.

A TARGETED PUBLIC POLICY CAMPAIGN

The Goal: Stop the Violence, Publish Commentary on

Pending NY and US Policy Affecting

Pregnant Women and their Unborn Children

Only weeks ago, FCLNY helped thwart the 2021 passage of a NY bill that could have potentially disseminated NY Pregnancy Resource Centers. Please see our essay published in the Buffalo News.

Bill Would Tip Scales Against Pregnancy Resource Centers

We’re currently working to impede the passage of proposed NY legislation that requires SUNY colleges to offer and finance chemical abortions “at all on-campus student health centers.” Reach out for a hard copy of our near full page article published this summer, Sunday edition of the Democrat & Chronicle.

Passing SUNY Medication Abortion Bill Would Be A Mistake

Along with other whole-life organizations, FCLNY continues to raise awareness on the status of the federal HYDE amendment, a law all pro-life persons should keep their eyes on and push for. Please see our commentary published this month by the USA Today Network.

Destroying the Hyde Amendment Could Spell Disaster For Women

Please also see the Washington Examiner's publication of FCLNY's essay titled, Woman Deserve Full Information About Abortion Effects. This article exposes NY's lack of of abortion-related informed consent laws and the documented mental health impacts of abortion on women.

We are, and always will, broadcast the fundamental import of the Consistent Life Ethic itself. FCLNY speaks out and writes on the destructive impact of publicly sanctioned lethal violence, besides abortion, including assisted dying, the death penalty and violent military action. Please see our published piece. Violence, Including Capital Punishment, Leaves Us Broken

Be on the lookout for 2021 collaborative pieces on other crucial CLE topics.

 A DIALOGUE CAMPAIGN ON

FEMINISM AND ABORTION

An Unsafe Space: A Series of Conversations from

Divergent World-views

The Goal: Stop the Violence, Elevating the Value of

Dialogue on Matters of Life & Death

Leading pro-choice and pro-life feminist scholars discussed Abortion, Female Poverty and Equality at FCLNY’s first conversation series on contemporary feminism and abortion. Nearly two-hundred folks registered for the virtual event, originally held up because of COVID. Attendees referenced the event as, “phenomenal.”  Another said this: “It was absolutely incredible to watch such experienced, intelligent women of divergent views discuss extremely sensitive and controversial topics.”

The Unsafe Space Series seeks to not only expose the power of rigorous discussion on feminist topics, surrounding forms of publicly sanctioned lethal violence, but the sharp differences between pro-life and pro-choice feminist thought. Please see the You Tube postings of Episode I and Episode II linked here! Episode II just occurred a few days ago, the topic: Abortion and Bodily Integrity. FCLNY is looking forward to press coverage on this constructive, civil conversational series regarding hot button, impactful women’s issues.

FCLNY EXPANDS ONGOING CAMPAIGNS

WOMEN’S HEALTH CARE AND

PREGNANCY RESOURCE CAMPAIGN

Women’s Healthcare & Pregnancy Resource Center Guides

The Goal: Stop the Violence, Raise Greater Awareness of

Life-Affirming Resources

Along with Feminists for Nonviolent Choices we are disseminating hundreds of our Women’s Guide to Healthcare NY brochures and phone apps., which currently outline the location and services offered by Federally Qualified Healthcare Centers in Western NY, entities that provide extensive women’s healthcare, but NOT ABORTION. We are almost finished expanding this guide to cover all of NY State!

Inspired by pregnant women in need and Pregnancy Resource Centers across NY, we are updating and distributing, state-wide, our NY Pregnancy Resource Center Guide, a 47 page booklet containing a comprehensive listing of all NY Pregnancy Resource Centers, their services as well as other available vital assistance for women facing unplanned pregnancies. People are reaching out to us for copies! Most recently an officer with the NY University Police requested numerous copies and said this:

I appreciate the ability to offer another resource to those in need and [to] be able to provide an ACTUAL choice and alternative. I have introduced our command staff to your material and they have seen it as a welcome alternative to what we currently have to offer … to those in crisis looking for assistance. I plan to offer them to all surrounding agencies in operation within our county. I appreciate all the work compiling the information in one place

Before the end of the year FCLNY wants to place copies of both resource guides at every NY college and university campus and law enforcement office. FCLNY hopes both guides will serve as a template for other states. Women experiencing unintended pregnancies everywhere have a right to know about key resources within their states!

FCLNY is committed. We are committed to making a difference for life, on your behalf, and especially on behalf of human beings vulnerable to lethal violence our culture has somehow sanctioned.

FCLNY is so thankful for our summer interns! Without their assistance we could not have completed several of the tasks at hand! In addition to the above, we worked with several local organizations to oppose the new construction of a yet another NY Planned Parenthood. We signed onto a US Supreme Court Amicus brief analyzing the dearth of evidence regarding any causal connection between legal abortion and women’s progress since Roe vs. Wade. We continued to raise awareness regarding racism and abortion in a variety of venues.

Soon, FCLNY will also be co-hosting two book signing events, showcasing the renowned feminist legal scholar Erika Bachiochi’s newly published book: The Rights of Women: Reclaiming a Lost Vision. We will keep you posted! Our September, 2021 FCLNY Book Club will also feature Erika’s insightful, innovative book.

Pro-choice feminist special interests are loud, organized and extremely well-financed, and on the surface, it appears they are quite successfully implementing their agenda, particularly here in NY.

We hope to see you at our upcoming Annual Celebration Dinner, on September 16. We look forward to your steadfast support.
