MIRACLES & MEMORIES MADE IN STEINHATCHEE

Saturday, July 16th, during the storm a red airboat with three individuals aboard was reported missing out of Hagens Cove when they did not return back to land. The Coast Guard, Taylor County Sheriff’s Office, FWC and many private individuals immediately began searching that night and the next morning for the missing people. Ned and his son, Joey, went scalloping and came back with dinner.

The Raison crew is pictured with three generations of scallopers! They come every year and love scalloping and the Sea Hag!

Griffin's crew went fishing and scalloping! They came back with a grand slam dinner of redfish, trout and scallops!

Saturday, July 16th, during the storm a red airboat with three individuals aboard was reported missing out of Hagen's Cove when they did not return back to land.

The Coast Guard, Taylor County Sheriff’s Office, FWC and many private individuals immediately began searching that night and the next morning for the missing people.

There were countless volunteers headed out on their own flats boats, offshore boats, helicopters, airplanes and airboats to help officials locate the missing people! There was truly an army of volunteers, law enforcement and officials on the water as well as an army of prayer warriors at home.

It was a God sent miracle that they were spotted 15 miles out of Steinhatchee Saturday afternoon around 1pm by volunteers, Joey and Sonya Anderson, Daniel and Lana Dickert and Justin and Pricilla Jones. Two of the individuals survived, Jimmie Taylor and the young boy, Troy, and our hearts go out to Mr. Russ Davis, who did not make it and his family who lost their husband, grandpa, and loved one.

It was truly an emotional experience seeing so many boaters come together to help find these brave souls. This is Steinhatchee. This is why we love our home. #SteinhatcheeStrong
