MISS DIG 811 Certification
It's a good time of the year to start thinking about getting your employees MISS DIG 811 Certified.

The MISS DIG 811 certification program offers excavators training and information on several safety and utility damage prevention topics at no cost.

How do I become MISS DIG 811 Certified?

ONLINE

Y ou can complete the online course by visiting the Education page of MISS DIG 811's website at www.missdig811.org.

Once you register as a new user, a verification link will be sent to the address you provide from 4iQ Solutions. Be sure to check your junk or spam folder for email, as this can occasionally occur.

If you are ready to participate in the program click the Education Page button below. The MISS DIG 811 Certification Program tab is located on the left side of the education page.
ATTEND A WORKSHOP

Y ou can attend a Safe Excavation Practices Workshop. The workshop includes information on additional topics, such as ingredients of a quality ticket and the design ticket program. Visit the education page on MISS DIG 811's website for a list of classes under MISS DIG 811Schedule of Upcoming Events. The 2018 workshop calendar will be available in mid-December.

You may also contact the education department to set up a workshop at your facility.

The live workshop also meets requirements for Continuing Education Credits for Professional Engineers, Surveyors, Wastewater, and Drinking Water, and pre-licensure credits for builders.

The 2018 Certification Workshop schedule will be sent in December.

December's teleconferences will be open to all RTE users who have ticket entry questions or would like to brush up on their skills. You are welcome to bring ticket examples for review as well.

Damage Prevention Associations
Damage Prevention Associations (DPA) are groups of representatives from local excavating companies, locating companies, municipalities and utility companies who meet on a regular basis to share information, receive training, network and problem solve. Safe Digging Advocate Award
Are you interested in nominating an individual or organization that has significantly served, improved, promoted or innovated the underground utility safety industry for the Annual Safe Digging Advocate Award? If so, please fill out the nomination form from the link below by January 15, 2018. 

The Award recipient will be highlighted in the April Safe Digging Campaign, and in MDPB member's education efforts. The Award will be presented at the MISS DIG 811 January Board meetings and MDPB meetings. The winner will receive an ALL-EXPENSE paid trip to the MISS DIG 811 Annual Meeting at the Soaring Eagle Casino in Mt Pleasant, including hotel accommodations for the winner and a guest, access to all meals, meetings, and functions, a mileage expense, along with a nice trophy and MISS DIG 811 swag.
