Maine International Trade Center (MITC) is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Trade Specialist to join our team.
A statewide organization located in Portland, MITC is a public-private partnership of the Maine Department of Economic & Community Development and the growing international business community throughout the State of Maine. Since its creation in 1996, the organization has counseled and educated thousands of private sector, government, and academic leaders on international trade partnership opportunities; helped facilitate millions of dollars of exports and overseas collaborations; and been recognized as a national leader among state export development programs.
The Trade Specialist position is responsible for cultivating and nurturing relationships with Maine companies and strategic partnerships with organizations across the state. As a champion for MITC, the Trade Specialist will embody the organization’s culture of high performance and commitment to quality work on behalf of the State of Maine.
Qualified candidates will demonstrate proven experience in the following areas: account management and customer relations to establish and maintain effective relationships; ability to listen carefully and communicate clearly through written formats, group presentations, and one-on-one consultations; and event and project management skills.
International experience, although not required, is preferred. MITC offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including health insurance and a retirement plan, and a flexible work environment.
