Congratulations Mr. Amador!
Mr. Amador, who has been the Design Fabrication & Irrigation professor for the last 15 years, will be the new Dean of Career Technical Education & Economic Development at Columbia College in Sonora! He starts this summer and will work with the broad range of CTE programs and certifications needed to help with the business and industry workforce needs in Stanislaus and Tuolumne Counties.

We wish him luck and will miss him in the ag department!

Open Registration for Fall Semester begins June 15.  Questions? Make sure visit us on the MJC website “chat feature” at the bottom right-hand corner of the page and talk with MJC staff. Chat is available M-Th from 8 am - 6 pm

New Student week | June 15-18th
Attention New Students!
  Join us on New Student Week, Monday, June 15th through Thursday, June 18th for virtual workshops that will prepare you to be an MJC student.
New Student Week is an opportunity for students to complete their core steps and receive priority registration. Workshops offered will cover how to choose a major, careers, student life, connect with a counselor, financial aid, register for classes and more!

The MJC Nursery OPEN!
We are happy to announce that the nursery is open to the public. For a list of prices, refer to the price sheet.

Hours of Operation:
Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday
9 am - 2:30 pm

Due to many constraints we have to modify our hours of operation, which will be staffed entirely by students, so your patience in their learning process is appreciated.

Please Note:
  • Please stay away if you have been in contact with anyone infected by COVID-19
  • Please stay away if you have a cough, fever, fatigue, etc……. if you do not feel well please stay away.
  • Everyone must wear a mask in the nursery area. Gloves are encouraged.
  • Only ten customers are allowed in at all times, if stop sign is posted at the entrance then wait until called in to proceed, then wait 6+ feet away until a person leaves.
  • Once in the nursery please keep 6+ feet away from everyone.
  • Nursery carts will be moving one way around the greenhouse in a counter clockwise rotation ending up at the nursery office on the south-side of the greenhouse, for checkout from the nursery office window.
  • Restrooms are not available for public use.

USDA Faces of Agriculture
Webinar Series
This virtual speaker series will feature current USDA researchers, scientists, technicians, engineers, foresters, other STEM related program managers. These virtual sessions will allow students from high school and college students from Minority Serving Institutions and School Districts to engage with current USDA professionals and learn about their story, career path, and exciting projects and initiatives they may be working on at USDA that serve the public interest; while helping to inspire the next generation of the agricultural workforce!

Dates of Programs:
  • June 17 at 11 am PST

  • August 19 @ 11 am PST
