MKE Airfield Update! This newsletter is intended to keep
you up-to-date on airfield construction projects, regular maintenance, and
special events that could impact the standard flow of arriving or
departing air traffic.
Here is an update of some major airfield construction projects that are taking place this winter, along with regular airfield maintenance:
- The fall repairs scheduled on the runways at MKE and Timmerman airports are now complete, and operations have resumed to normal operations.
MKE has launched a two-year project to update the Airport Master Plan that will guide future development of the Airport. This plan will define a roadmap for incremental development to meet future aviation demand and other airport needs. MKE will host the first of four Airport Master Plan public open house meetings on January 16, 2019 from 3-7pm at the Four Points by Sheraton, Ballroom C, 5311 S. Howell Avenue. We have also launched
MKE SmartPark, a new suite of parking products at the Airport. MKE SmartPark utilizes state-of-the-art technology to make the MKE travel experience faster, easier and more rewarding with the following four key features:
1. Easy Pay: Simply scan your barcode to enter and exit.
2. Reservations: Reserve parking online, even during peak travel times.
3. Rewards: Redeem frequent parking points for free parking.
4. Valet: Drop yourself off at ticketing. We'll take care of parking your car.
MKE SmartPark is free to download and is available in the Apple App Store, in the Android Google Play store, or on parking.mitchellairport.com.
Many new nonstop routes are in the works for MKE! Beginning on January 7th, Southwest will start new nonstop service to Dallas Love Field. New routes provide more convenient options for leisure and business travelers from our area. We also have nonstop flights to lots of warm weather destinations this time of year, including Florida, Arizona, Mexico, Jamaica and the Dominican Republic. Visit
