Welcome, 2021 Graduates
The alumni ranks increased by 170 on May 15 as the most recent graduates walked across the stage in person in front of a limited (but live) gathering of family and friends.

We thank the Lord for these gifts to the church and welcome them into our midst. The commencement webpage contains links to a complete gallery of graduates, kudoboards, programs and livestreams of the concert and services, assignment lists, etc.

We also thank all of you who have encouraged, prayed for, and mentored these graduates. Opening enrollment is projected to be slightly lower. Please continue to identify, pray for, and encourage prospective students in your sphere of influence.
Homecoming Happenings on the Hill
Lord willing, October 1-3 will see the return of many alumni and parents who were not able to attend last year's Homecoming festivities.

Traditional favorites such as the Talent Show, Knights Athletics, the Sprinter Fun Run, Alumni Registration, the Family Fun Zone, the Alumni Mixer, worship in the Chapel of the Christ, and the MLC/WLS soccer game are back. In addition, Sunday's schedule features a Disc Golf Tournament, and a Wind Symphony concert.

View the full schedule, learn more, and plan to attend this wonderful weekend of fun and fellowship.

Flora and Fauna of Florida Tour
After multiple tour postponements, we are excited to announce a new tour for the first time since 2019. Lord willing, we'll fly to the sunny south for a Florida Flora and Fauna tour during the Midwest's darkest days from January 10-25, 2022.

The tour will focus on the amazing aspects of God's handiwork, with highlights such as Silver Springs, Sanibel Island, the Everglades, the Keys, multiple botanical gardens, and several sunsets from sandy shores. Registration opens on August 16. Learn more at the alumni tours website.

The O Canyonlands (Nov 6-16, 2021) and O Canada (July 10-25, 2022) trips are currently full, but we encourage those interested to join the waitlist. Open to all WELS members, MLC Alumni Tours provide affordable, enjoyable, and educational opportunities to explore God's world with God's people.
Twins vs. Brewers or Vikings vs. Packers
Fans of Minnesota and Wisconsin sports are invited to join fellow alumni in Minneapolis for border battles between the Twins and Brewers (Aug 28 and 29) and the Vikings and Packers (Nov 21).

Act fast! Baseball orders are due August 5, and we expect the football tickets to sell out soon.

Two seating options ($25 and $40) are available for both the August 28 (Saturday evening) and the August 29 (Sunday afternoon) Twins vs Brewers games. Get your tickets here. Many students will be joining the group for the Sunday game.

Upper corner seats ($100) are available for the Vikings vs Packers game at this link.

Graduates may purchase up to six seats for each baseball game and two for football. Tickets will be sent about 1-2 weeks prior to the games. No transportation or meals are planned at this point.
FREE Yearbooks/Black & Red
For many years, DMLC, NWC, and MLC yearbooks and NWC Black & Red magazines were produced to provide a historical record and to help campus family members get to know each other. MLC maintains several copies of each, and digital versions are available on the MLC History page.

Extra print copies are available for many of those years (see the list here), and we'd like to offer them to alumni. If you would like an item, complete this brief form, and we will send it to you for the cost of shipping & handling. Or, if you prefer, you can pick it up on campus.
Opportunities for Offerings to Your School
Be Invested in Your Alma Mater
Equipping Christian Witnesses
MLC is entering its final year of the Equipping Christian Witnesses campaign with these goals:

A) Identifying and praying for prospective students,
B) Increasing financial aid through the Congregational Partner Grant Program match, and
C) Improving and building residential and athletic facilities to meet current and future student needs.

Join us in thanking God for the full funding of the Betty Kohn Fieldhouse, set to be completed prior to the spring sports season. View construction progress on the time-lapse and live webcams.

Please pray for the remainder of the campaign, help us identify prospects, and consider an offering in thanks to God for your training and his ongoing provision of harvest laborers.
Help Buy Hymnals . . . Support our Students
Since its founding in 2008, our MLC Alumni Association has funded scholarships and non-budgeted campus projects. This spring, the Fisher of Men statue was installed and dedicated, marking the successful completion of a three-year campaign. Thank you, alumni, for your generous gifts to make this 25th-anniversary gift possible.

NEW Christian Worship hymnals for Chapel of the Christ have been selected as this year's project. The association helped purchase some of the current hymnals in 2010 when the chapel was dedicated. Learn more about this project and please consider making a gift to support the scholarship and hymnal purchase.
Share Your Experience
As noted in the Equipping Christian Witnesses campaign info above, the primary focus is to encourage more prospective students to consider ministry as their calling and MLC as their college.
21st-century Americans often look to the internet to learn more about a particular place. Personal testimonies (positive or negative) can be powerful tools (consider Amazon). One quick and simple way to show your support is to share your honest MLC experiences online. Both Facebook and Google allow you to "rate and review" places (including MLC).

If you have a Facebook or Google account, please consider rating and reviewing your alma mater. If you don't currently follow the MLC Facebook page, please "like" our page so you can stay up to date with regular updates and news.
