92 Student-Athletes Named Academic All-UMAC
Emily Neeb (ALA) was named Academic All-UMAC

MLC led all schools in the UMAC with 92 Academic All-UMAC honorees from the 2016 fall sports season.
 
To receive Academic All-UMAC honors, a student-athlete must finish the semester of competition with a grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 or higher. MLC's total of 92 honorees was eight more than any other school in the conference.
 
MLC also finished with the the highest team GPA in four of the eight sports (volleyball, women's soccer, football, and men's soccer).

Knights Return to Winning Ways Against Storm

The women's basketball team returned to its winning ways with a 71-45 win against Crown College on Saturday, January 28.
 
MLC dominated the Storm from the start, jumping out to an 18-2 lead and holding Crown without a field goal for nearly eight minutes to open the game.
 
Ruth Buchholz (ALA) posted new career highs with 12 points, seven rebounds, and two blocks to lead the team. Jade St. Germaine (LPS) and Grace Schultz (FVL) joined her in double figures with 11 points apiece.
 
The Knights needed the win following a tough stretch of games and are now 5-6 in conference play. They are currently in fifth place in the conference standings.
 
Coach Unke Honored Before Crown Game
Coach Unke was joined by a number of former players in a ceremony before Saturday's game against Crown

MLC Athletic Director Jim Unke was honored before the men's basketball game against Crown for his 19 years as head coach of the men's basketball program.
 
Unke retired from coaching after last season, finishing with 164 wins at the helm of the MLC program. In total, he won 360 games in a 34-year coaching career.
 
During the ceremony, Unke was presented with a plaque by his former players commemorating his nomination to the MLC Shepherd Society.
