Why Does My MLC Update Look Different?

This is a special edition of your MLC Update, introducing you to MLC’s new brand and logo! We’ll continue to bring you the same monthly recap of happenings on campus — all with a new look and feel.

Why Is MLC Rebranding?

The rebrand is an outcome of MLC’s Project Sunrise, a multi-year effort to improve the college in three key areas, one of which is branding and outreach.


Through the new brand, we want to tell the beautiful story of gospel ministry training at MLC more boldly and widely. This beautiful story our purpose, our mission has not changed! We're just sharing it in a new, stronger way.


Please note that generous donors funded the initial research, design, and implementation process on campus.

What Exactly IS a Brand?

A brand is the essence of an organization’s people, programs, and purpose. It includes visual elements, such as a logo, tagline, colors, imagery, and typography. It also extends to our messaging, our reputation, even our vibe.


The reality is, we all are the makers and the managers of MLC’s brand as we work together to share the stories, images, and experiences of our college and its mission.

A Brand to Unite Us

Our new brand unites us by pointing us even more clearly to the beautiful mission we share — preparing men and women to serve as pastors, teachers, and staff ministers in congregations and schools all over the country and the world. Let's let President Gurgel explain:
