Thank You for Your Support!

On MLC Day 2024, you prayed, shared, and gave—more than we could have hoped. Thank you!
Because of your support, we raised $138,968 for the Congregational Partner Grant Program. But please don’t stop now!
With additional gifts, we can assist even more students. MLC Day is part of a year-long effort to raise just over $695,000 to meet our commitment of matching the gifts from congregations who support their MLC students! You can donate here.
Please continue to pray for MLC’s students, faculty, and staff, and for our mission of training the next generation of called workers to share the gospel with the world.

Did you know that on Arbor Day at MLC, students serve the community as well as the campus?
Makena Shobe (Christ the Vine-Temecula CA) says Arbor Day is a glimpse into what ministry is all about: serving others. On Arbor Day, her group cleaned up Hermann Heights Park.
“We picked up litter and gathered branches into piles. This allowed the city of New Ulm to have an easier time clearing the area,” said Makena. “It was amazing to be outside on such a nice day and to give back to the community that warmly welcomes all of us here at MLC. We were able to let our Christian lights shine and serve others in love.”

April was a record-breaking month for MLC’s track and field team.
On April 20, Camden Sulzle (St. John-Redwood Falls MN) and Maya Habben (Mt. Calvary-Flagstaff AZ) set MLC records in the 10,000-meter run. Camden clocked a time of 34:12.04, breaking Caleb Lash’s (MLC ’23) record time of 34:53.36 from April 2022. Maya broke her own school record from April 2022 with her time of 42:25.83.
Later in April, Lucas Holtz (St. Paul-Appleton WI), Martin Raasch (Good Shepherd-Sioux Falls SD), Jeremiah Stanton (Redemption-Milwaukee), and Nathan Pausma (St. Luke-Oakfield WI) broke the 11998 MLC school record in the 4x400 relay race.
On top of these new school records, many Knights set personal records in their events in April, peaking just in time for the UMAC Championships.

The cast of Alice in Wonderland took audience members on a delightful adventure down the rabbit hole. These talented students transformed the MLC Auditorium into Wonderland, bringing to life Lewis Carroll’s beloved characters.
And the best part? Alice in Wonderland brought 5,000 children to the MLC campus! The cast and crews’ joyful dedication to the production meant audiences of all ages left the show with smiles.
Read interviews with the cast and crew in KnightWatch Weekly, a recruitment newsletter for high schoolers.

Growing in Faith: Study Abroad
|
|
MLC students studying abroad are also wrapping up their semesters. Their blogs share a key takeaway—the importance of faith.
In his last post about his semester in Galway, Ireland, David Fenske (Our Savior-Brookings SD, pictured in black shirt) wrote, “When I think of the times that God felt the furthest away from me, he tended to be closer than ever.”
And the other study-abroad students saw a similar result: a strengthened life of prayer and personal devotion. Sarah Hoffe (St. John-Dakota MN, pictured in green), who studied in Madrid, said, “I thank God that he used this experience to strengthen my faith.”
Check out the blogs to read more about the students’ experiences.
