Dear MLK Parade Participants, 
 
We want to thank each of you for participating in our parade and celebrating Dr. King's legacy! We are very excited to have you join us on Saturday, January 13, 2024.
 
We have provided a map to demonstrate parking and drop-off options. Listed below are critical details upon arrival. Share this information with all of the participants in your group; please review carefully: 

Parking/Drop-off

  1. You will have a few different options in regards to parking. You can park at the Serra High School lot (limited spaces available) OR drop-off parade participants and then park your vehicle at our other two designated parking areas located at Rowley Park (13220 Van Ness Ave) or our Gtrans Lot (13999 S Western Ave). Entrance to the Serra parking lot will only be available on Marine Ave. (view map) Entrance to the Gtrans parking lot will only be available on 139th St.
  2. Available spaces to park at Serra High School lot are highlighted in GREEN. Drop-off lane/route is highlighted in BLUEPlease note that drop-off lanes will close at 9:30 am. To keep the flow of traffic going, we ask that drivers drop off participants in a timely manner.
  3. Groups with 10 or less participants, please park at the Gtrans lot and shuttle to Serra High School.
  4. Serra High School parking lot will be closed at 1:00 PM. If you park at Serra High School, please make sure your vehicle is moved by 1:00 PM or you may not have access to your vehicle after 1:00 PM.

Check - In
  1. Parade check-in begins at 8:00 AM and is located on Van Ness Ave near the front entrance of Serra High School on the grass area highlighted in LIGHT BLUE. Your group must be checked in by 9:00 am.
  2. Once checked in, please proceed to your parade route number to reduce the congestion in the check-in area and parking lot.
  3. The parade route (Van Ness Ave) will be closed to traffic starting at 8:30 am. The Parade will begin promptly at 10:00 am.
  4. Immediately following the parade will be our Battle of the Bands Competition and our Celebration event at Rowley Park. Make sure to stick around!
