Registration is now open for CDE's 2025 California All Titles Conference, “Cultivating Change for Tomorrow,” scheduled for March 12–13, 2025 in Los Angeles. The purpose of this Conference is to provide technical assistance and professional development to superintendents, administrators, state and federal program directors, and instructional leaders throughout California with a focus on best practices related to effective programs, student achievement, social/emotional learning, and accountability.

ELPAC Updates

Accessibility Resource Graphics

The California Assessment Accessibility Resource Graphics for the 2024–25 school year have been updated and are now available on the CAASPP and ELPAC Accessibility Resources web page. These graphics provide a one-page quick reference PDF for the embedded and non-embedded universal tools, designated support, and accommodations allowed in the CAASPP and ELPAC systems, including ELA/Literacy, Math, Science, CSA, ELPAC computer-based, and ELPAC paper-pencil.

Student Needs Matching Tool

The CAASPP Student Needs Matching tool is a new quick reference guide designed to help educators and individualized education program teams identify appropriate designated supports and accommodations for students in the classroom and on the CAASPP assessments. This document categorizes the available designated support and accommodations into groups according to the needs of a student, including support for students needing access in language(s) of ranslation.

Region 4 ML Leadership Institute

Call for Speakers!

Mark your calendars! The 3rd Annual Region 4 ML Leadership Institute will be coming in a few months! The theme this year will be Better Together: Building Partnerships and Strengthening Collaboration for Multilingual Learner Success. Each year, aside from bringing voices from researcher and experts in the field, the Institute also shines a spotlight on the amazing work of our local LEA experts -- you! If your LEA has been developing partnerships that build towards the success of our multilingual learners, whether internally across departments, with families and student organizations, or with external community partners, we'd love to hear from you! Our hope is to highlight a variety of districts' practices so they can share with us the multiple ways of collaborations happening around our region. Please email us at MLLN@cccoe.k12.ca.us if you have questions or are interested in sharing about your work.

Thanks to your feedback, we are trying something new this year. Instead of two virtual half-days, this year's Institute will have an in-person element! Day 1 on Thursday, January 23rd, will stay virtual while Day 2 on Friday, January 24th, will be held in person at San Mateo County Office of Education. Registration is now open! Please see the flyer below and register soon! We look forward to seeing you at the Region 4 ML Leadership Institute!
