Belated May greetings,
I keep forgetting how busy we get in the months leading up to the end of the Spring semester. More recently I have been adjusting to expiration of the City of Columbia Health Orders, while encouraging my students to maintain safety. That said, I am overjoyed that I am able to provide in-person studio recital for the first time in a year and a half.
A friendly reminder that
the 5/21 MMAMTA Spring Luncheon meeting next Friday will remain on Zoom:
https://us02web.zoom.us/j/81202116288 . This is the meeting where we discuss the annual events calendar, so I highly recommend you to attend. This meeting lasts usually 1.5 hours. The full Zoom invitation will be attached in the next May Newsletter: Part 2 of 2, along with the agenda (including a draft of the 2021-22 Calendar) and the Treasurer's Report.
Also, please consider renewing your annual MTNA membership soon:
https://www.mtna.org/MTNA/Sign_In.aspx . Every year, compiling a membership list for the MMAMTA Handbook is a challenge due to teachers waiting until the Fall to renew.
The recommended deadline is July 1, but I highly recommend renewing it now, while we have your attention (and before the summer break).
In case you will not be checking May Newsletter Part 2 of 2, this is my last month as the MMAMTA President. The current Vice-President Renan Leme will be the new President, with Dr. Peter Miyamoto as the next VP. It has been a pleasure serving you, and look forward to remaining active in this important teacher's organization.
