November 2022 Newsletter

Dear MMAMTA members,

This month we have a lot of exciting events coming up and I’m very excited to share those dates with you! It’s certainly a busy month for all of us!

As a reminder, the deadline for MMAMTA Evaluative Auditions is TODAY, November 1^st. (Columbia extended to Nov 4^thwith e-mail notification on Nov 1.) The event will be held Saturday, November 19^th. See more details below.

Last Sunday was the annual Piano Student Showcase and I want to congratulate every student who participated and their teachers for their excellent performances! This event provides such a wonderful opportunity for our piano students and it deserves our support.

I hope everyone had a good Halloween yesterday! I’m already looking forward to Thanksgiving now, which will be here before we know it.

I am wishing the best of luck to all students participating in the MMTA State auditions, which will happen be between November 3-6.

I would like to thank our VP Dr. Peter Miyamoto for willing to represent MMAMTA at the MMTA Board and Executive Board Meeting, which will happen on Friday, November 4^th in Cape Girardeau. I very much appreciate him for willing to represent our association.

Dear MMAMTA member:

This is a reminder that the 2022 Evaluative Audition will be held Saturday, November 19. This year the piano students will have the opportunity to play on the beautiful Steinway B in MU's Sinquefield Music Center to a great adjudicator experienced in writing comments for students of all levels.

The application and information is attached. This is a non-competitive opportunity for students of all levels to play for evaluative feedback. The official deadline is November 1, but in case you need a bit more time organizing your students for entrance, I'd be happy to extend the deadline to this Friday, November 4. If applying after the Nov 1 deadline, it would help if you could email me (MiyamotoP@missouri.edu) how many students you are enrolling by November 4.
