March Newsletter
It is MARCH - and the first day of Spring is just over 2 weeks away!

This Saturday (Mar 7) and Sunday (Mar 8), 10am-5pm, MUSICATHON will take place at Jerry's Instrument Shop in Columbia. Come drop by to hear MMAMTA teachers and their students play some tunes, and while you are at it, check out Jerry's inventory - especially his pianos of all sizes. We are very grateful for the use of the space at his downtown store. Jerry's Instrument Shop is located at 111 East Walnut Street, Suite D in Columbia. Donations are suggested. Questions? Please contact Musicathon chair, Renan Leme at (573) 355-8958.

A reminder that the MMAMTA Scholarship application deadline is April 3. ...My sincere apologies; I just realized this information needs to be updated on the web site, and this will be done on, or before next Monday, March 10. The audition is open to the students who are applying or applied to a summer music festival, and students who are graduating this year, who will either be major or minoring in Music in college.

Remember, Musicathon is a fundraiser which 50% of the funds raised will go towards the Scholarship awards, and the other 50% to the designated, local charity. This year, Columbia's Musicathon is donating to the Volunteer Action Center .

March 20-25 is the 2020 MTNA National Conference at Chicago Marriott Magnificent Mile in Chicago, Illinois. If you are going, enjoy! We hope to hear all about it at the Spring Luncheon.

Speaking of which, SAVE THE DATE for MMAMTA Annual Spring Luncheon is scheduled on May 28, Thursday at 11am at the Madison's Cafe in Jefferson City . Join us to socialize and catch up with fellow teachers, and also get a bit of business done after lunch.

Thank you all for your support.
