On-Site Support Services
Thunderbolt Parents,

I hope all of you are doing well and the first week of Remote Learning went smoothly for you and your child. We appreciate all of the support and patience during these unprecedented times.

We will start providing On-Site Support Services for students who will most benefit from these opportunities. We will begin to make direct contact with families of students who have been identified to have a critical need. Categories that are being prioritized include – students with disabilities, who receive free/reduced lunch services, designated English Language Learners (ELL), and those in the care of Foster Care/Arizona Department of Child Safety.

Due to health and safety, space, and staffing considerations the number of students served must be limited. If requests for on-site support services is greater than our school’s capacity, we will prioritize based on the level of need. Please reach out to us if you feel your child needs On Site Support Services or if you need assistance with the Remote Learning plan.

Thank you!

Counseling Center
In order to be prepared for life beyond high school, we are here to guide students towards success. We will send monthly updates on what students should be doing to stay focused on their future. Mica Mountain High School is a C2G school. We are committed to graduating every student so when they leaved they are prepared for their future.

Class of 2024: Your theme for the year is to Make a Commitment to Graduate. We will have a banner signing assembly and C2G bracelet ceremony when we are able to do so. One way to begin making a commitment to graduate is to focus on getting good grades and being involved in school. To help motivate you with this, every student should create a Raise.me account and begin earning Micro-Scholarships that will grow over time as you earn more grades and participate in more activities. Go to your Counselor course on Schoology for directions on how to set up your account and begin earning scholarships.

Class of 2023: Your theme for the year is to Focus on the Goal. Your Goal is to graduate to your future. The sophomore year of high school is critical. Students are no longer a freshmen, but are also not upper class-men, so a student tends to be less engaged. It is also the year where you get to explore your options with three electives. To stay focused on your goals, create or update your Raise.me account. If you transferred from Cienega High School, you have a Raise.me account. Just update your information and transfer yours account to Mica Mountain. If you do not have an account, create one and update your grades and accolades from freshmen year. Go to your Counselor course on Schoology for directions on how to set up your account and begin earning scholarships.

Class of 2022: Your theme for the year is to Assess Your Possibilities. As upper class-men you are focusing on sites on your future beyond high school… college, career, military, trade schools etc. PSAT, SAT, and ACT tests will be taken. It is your final transcript you will be sending to colleges next fall, so academic rigor and good grades are important. In order to improve your chances for admission to colleges, it is important to keep track of your grades and accolades. Raise.me is the perfect way to do this. If you transferred from Cienega, you have a Raise.me account. Log on to that account and update your high school to transfer you to Mica Mountain. If you do not have an account, create one and update your grades and accolades from freshmen year. Go to your Counselor course on Schoology for directions on how to set up your account and begin earning scholarships.

The English Department is super hyped about the new school year! We look forward to not just seeing you on a computer screen but seeing your faces in person. Welcome to the 2020 - 2021 School Year…The Year of the Roller Coaster. Here are some words of wisdom for our students from the masterful writer, Charles Dickens, “The most important thing in life is to stop saying ‘I Wish’ and start saying ‘I Will.’ Consider nothing impossible, then treat possibilities as probabilities.” See you soon Thunderbolts!
