Governor declares Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month

The month of March was recognized in Nebraska as Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month.

Nebraska Gov. Jim Pillen signed the proclamation in early March to recognize that all individuals are valuable and deserve a chance to lead fulfilling and productive lives.

Mark Shriver, PhD, director of MMI’s University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD), was at the Nebraska State Capitol for the governor’s signing.

"It is an honor to be invited to represent the Munroe-Meyer Institute. This demonstrates the governor's recognition of the important work of our MMI team throughout Nebraska to improve the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities," Shriver said.
