MMIWG Inquiry Final Report  
The National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG) has released a final report finding that "persistent and deliberate human and Indigenous rights violations and abuses" underlie violence against Indigenous women and girls. The report makes far-reaching calls for change directed to governments, media, individuals and others. Read more
Province Seeks Feedback on Forest Policy  
The Province has initiated two engagement processes of specific interest to forest communities - Forest and Range Practices Act (FRPA) Improvement Initiative and a review of the Private Managed Forest Land Program (PMFLP). Read more 
Convention Clinic & Workshop Proposals   
The deadline for clinic and workshop applications to the 2019 Convention in Vancouver is this Friday, June 7. Interested parties are asked to review the criteria and deadlines, and provide an online submission  here.
Community Better Challenge   
ParticipACTION invites local governments to participate in the Community Better Challenge and compete for the title of Canada's Most Active Community. Prizes range from $10,000 to $150,000 and can be used to support local physical activity initiatives. Read more 
Deadline Extended to Complete Cannabis Cost Survey    
Local governments have one additional month to complete UBCM's survey examining costs related to cannabis legalization. Data obtained through this survey will support UBCM's discussions with the provincial government regarding cannabis excise tax revenue sharing with local governments. Completed surveys should be sent to Bhar Sihota, UBCM Policy Analyst, by June 28, 2019. Read more
