A Note from Steve

After months of work and testing, we are finally ready to roll out our ProBalance software update. Below you can read about the many new functions and features that we have incorporated into V2.0. We will be contacting all of our existing customers over the next few weeks to schedule a site visit to update their programs. For those attending the upcoming Eastern Gas Compression Roundtable, please stop by our booth and we can show you the easiest, most cost effective way to keep your engines in balance 24/7.

Equipment Update

ProBalance® 2.0 Engine Balancing

The Machinery Monitoring Systems ProBalance Engine Balancing system makes keeping your slow-speed, natural gas fueled engines in balance – snap!

ProBalance continuously monitors the peak firing pressures for up to 20 cylinders and generates an alarm if the engine is unbalanced or any cylinder exceeds user-defined parameters. Version 2.0 will also incorporate enhanced alarming and reporting of detectable misfires, detonation and even pre-ignition events.

The ProBalance® Plus Engine Balancing system continuously monitors the peak firing pressures up to 20 cylinders and automatically adjusts the electronic Fuel Valves to maintain the PFPs across the engine to within user-defined parameters.

While many aspects of the new ProBalance 2.0 software are indiscernible, it is significantly faster, more nimble, and much more user friendly.  The updated software incorporates improved user interfaces and data entry screens for setup and system changes, as well as new display screens to more clearly indicate the unit operating details. The increased speed of calculations now allows the user to view stacked firing curves, in real time for enhanced diagnostics. There will be no charge for the update, however installation requires a site visit as we are not connected to your systems. As such, the only expense would be time and travel expenses, unless we are already on site for an installation, etc.

Safety Tips

Wildflower Season

In the spring we all enjoy seeing the wildflowers in bloom along the highways. Many of us stop and use this beautiful backdrop for a quick picture of family and friends. Remember to take care and watch for snakes, fire ants, bees and other creatures in the thick flower coverings before posing for the pictures.
