Ginny's Gems: Meet Rev. Nicole Havelka
Greetings, friends in the Missouri Mid-South Conference!
I am Rev. Nicole Havelka and I joined the MMS Conference Team on October 1 as the Interim Minister for Search and Call Discernment. I will serve with you until June 30, 2020. I am delighted to work with this talented staff team, and our team of volunteer Search and Call Stewards. I will work with them to support local congregations in search and assist in recruiting the best candidates to serve our churches. I am also excited to experiment with you in this time on new ways of being wider church that will hopefully result in better ways, not only to do search and call, but to be the church together. I am deeply grateful for the warm welcome I’ve received from staff, volunteers and church members so far. Thank you!
I bring to you a wide variety of experience from my 10 years in wider church ministry including experience in training, leadership development and recruitment, vision process facilitation, administration, and staffing. I look forward to sharing those gifts with you as well as learning from your experiences of being church in the Missouri Mid-South so that we can grow together.
As you may know, I live in Columbus, Ohio. Most of the administrative work I do (emails, phone calls, video conference meetings, etc.) will be done from my home office. I will come to the conference about twice a month to meet with churches, attend meetings, and train search committees. Since this position is half-time, my primary work days are Wednesdays and Thursdays in addition to the in-person meeting time.
Here’s how to reach me:
