COM provided $2500 in support of last month's Hispanic/Latin@ Pastors Retreat at Zephyr Point Presbyterian Conference Center on the southern shore of Lake Tahoe. Rev. Amy Mendez, who along with Rev. Roberto Ramirez was on the planning team for the retreat, shared this brief reflection, Searching for Connection, on an excellent retreat.

226th General Assembly


Melinda Forbes, Deidra Goulding, and Wendy Tajima are all in Salt Lake City for the 226th General Assembly, and will return on the 4th of July. If you want to watch the plenary sessions, they are live-streamed at https://ga-pcusa.org/.  There you can also find recordings from last week's committee meetings and many other resources from the GA.

Rev. Dr. Hiheon Kim of South Korea will be in Southern California September 13-18, 2024. He is senior pastor of Hyanglin Presbyterian Church, chair of the Society of Korean Minjung Theology, and President of Hyosun-Miseon Peace Park Project Committee. He speaks English, so does not need a translator. Hiheon comes with expertise in social justice and spirituality, ecological turn beyond globalized consumerism, and peace and reunification of the two Koreas. Frances Namoumou of Fiji will be in Southern California September 19-25, 2024, co-hosted by the presbyteries of San Fernando and San Gabriel.   She speaks English, so does not need a translator, and comes with expertise in Climate Justice and Ecological Stewardship, and Disaster and Displacement Management. She is open to lead Bible Study, lead education sessions on the impacts of climate change, talk with small groups or committees or youth groups, and more.
