Board of Pension Changes

Need information on the changes? Feel free to contact Kristin Leucht at kleucht@pensions.org if you have questions. Also, the Board of Pensions has developed an online tool to help you estimate the cost of taking the different options being presented; to access the calculator, go to https://www.pensions.org/decision-guide/ . Remember, by September all churches with pastors should consider and report to the Board of Pensions how pastors will be provided benefits in 2025.

Have You Registered for the Day of Service?

June 15, 2024, Trinity Presbyterian Church

Our next stated Presbytery meeting will be held at Trinity Presbyterian, 3740 E. Sierra Madre Blvd, Pasadena 91107.

The meeting will begin at 9 am, and the plan is for the Day of Service to begin at 10 am. Everyone is asked to meet at Trinity, even if you do not attend the Presbytery meeting, to pick up lunch and receive the address of the work site, which is not public.

There are three service options planned:

1.    Compiling hygiene kits for Los Angeles General Medical Center (formerly known as LAC+USC Medical Center). If you want to donate items for the hygiene kits, see the list below.

2.    Sorting through boxes of Trinity memorabilia, with guidance from a church leader.

3.    Working at the Tongva Taraxat Paxaavxa Conservancy, the first plot of land returned to the first people of Los Angeles. There are restrictions to the number of people who can work there; information is on the Presbytery registration form.

WE REMEMBER IN PRAYER

We remember GPIB-USA, the Indonesian new worshiping community in Claremont in our Prayers of the People this week.

Prayers for the family and friends of Rev. Dr. Dale Morgan, retired member of San Gabriel Presbytery, who peacefully died on Saturday. Her son was with her. Dale was one of the first woman minister members in our presbytery. We will share details about a memorial service as we get them.
