PRESBYTERIAN FOUNDATION TECHNOLOGY GRANTS

The Presbyterian Foundation’s Church Technology Grant program will assist Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) pastors and leaders serving churches or New Worshiping Communities. Funds are available for those pastoral leaders seeking to enhance their ministry through technology in a variety of ways:

  • Upgrade existing technology or purchase new technology
  • Upgrade a church website
  • Online Training

Pastors with the greatest need serving congregations of color, small churches, new immigrant congregations, and congregations in economically challenged locales are invited to apply. Grants will be given to churches or presbyteries for release to the pastor for direct purchase or reimbursement for technology purchases and training.

Those who received grant funds during the previous Technology Grant cycles are asked not to apply.

To apply, visit presbyterianfoundation.org/tech-grant

The application process will be open from May 20 to July 13, 2026. Applications will be reviewed after the closing date. We anticipate more applicants than available grants.

MINIMUM WAGE VIOLATION RESOURCE

If you know someone who lives in LA. County who is being paid less than minimum wage or experiencing retaliation for reporting a work violation or experiencing discrimination or has unpaid wages due them or needs to report a labor violation or is experiencing a host of other employment issues, you can help them make an anonymous report to the Office of Labor Equity. Start by visiting their Minimum Wage for Workers webpage.

COMMISSION ON REPRESENTATION AND NOMINATIONS

CoRN nominates members of the Presbytery for election by the Presbytery to its committees, commissions, agencies, and boards. All members of the Presbytery (teaching elders and ruling elders) are eligible to serve.

The CoRN advocates for and promotes full representation of the rich diversity of the Presbytery in leadership by identifying and resourcing potential leaders; reviews and reports on Presbytery performance on representation and inclusive practices; identifies, invites, and nominates candidates for leadership in the wider church.

Serving on a commission or board involves meeting a few times per year for the length of your term, as well as work that may be assigned for follow-up between meetings. Most groups meet primarily via videoconference. A term of service is three years long, beginning on July 1, and may be renewed once for a total of six years of service. Synod Commission terms are four years long, beginning on July 1, and may not be renewed.

WE REMEMBER IN PRAYER

We remember, Calvary Presbyterian Church. South Pasadena, in our

Prayers of the People this week.

Prayers for Victims of Violence

Last week, we learned of another tragedy related to gun violence. Let us surround our Muslim friends and neighbors with prayers and love. The recent attacks at the Islamic Center in San Diego are a sad reminder that none of us is safe from violent individuals intent on killing. Let us find ways to surround our local Muslim communities with prayers and support. I encourage us to pray for the victims of this latest shooting. And I encourage each church to consider how to ensure the safety of everyone who enters our doors to worship God. These are difficult, dark times. May we reflect the light of Christ, showing God’s way of peace and love.
