Designed by Minnesota Golf Legends Mike Fermoyle, John Harris, Dave Tentis and Bev Vanstrum, Loggers Trail is laid out over a spacious 170 acres and plays to 7300 yards from the professional tees. The course features bent grass fairways and large greens incorporating a mixture of links style holes with heavily wooded holes.

Improving Your Pace of Play: Quick Tips (Part Two)

Keeping a good pace on the golf course not only makes the game more enjoyable for you but also for everyone around you. The goal is to play at a speed that keeps up with the group ahead of you. For example, on Par 4 or Par 5 holes, you should reach the tee box as the players in the group ahead are taking their second shot. On Par 3 holes, aim to arrive at the tee box as the group ahead is finishing putting and walking off the green.

Improve your pace of play on the greens with these practical tips:

  • If there’s an open hole ahead and the group behind is pushing your pace, consider picking up your pace or inviting them to play through.
  • While on the green, study your shot options, line of putt, and putting strategy as you walk onto the green or while others prepare to hit.
  • Leave the putting green promptly once your group finishes putting.
  • Place your bag where you can easily walk to the next hole—avoid spots that require backtracking.
  • Record your score on the next tee box instead of immediately after finishing the hole.

By following these tips, you’ll help the game flow smoothly and the round will be more enjoyable for everyone. Happy Golfing!
