Dear MNTC Members and Friends,


Gear up for an exciting winter season at MNTC!


Our Club Member Championships are coming up soon! Singles matches will take place November 5 – 6 and Doubles matches will take place November 19 – 20. Sign up to compete. 


We are excited to continue to offer USTA tournaments - the L5 tournament played on October 15 – 16 was a huge success! The High Performance players had a strong showing; see the winners listed below. 


Looking for a new racket? Come demo the latest version of the Wilson Ultra line, including models 108, 100 and 100L.


October 25 – 31 is Halloween week, so come in a costume you can play in for junior clinics!


There will be no classes November 21 – 25. Coaches will be available for private lessons; reach out to your coaches to set something up over the break. 


Please use your best court etiquette to avoid disrupting play when going to courts 2 or 3 by entering through the door closest to the front entrance and walking behind the curtains. Please wait until your reserved court time before entering the court.


Courts will be limited November 1 – 23, mostly Wednesday and Friday mornings, due to the Women's Tribe.


We will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, November 24. You can always check our website for the holiday closings.  


New November / December leagues will be starting up soon, email Mo at mcostantino@wm.edu to sign up.

Club Championship


The 2022 MNTC Club Championships are open to all members 18 and over.


Singles – November 5 / 6

3.5 and below or Open Division (4.0+)


Doubles – November 19 / 20

3.5 and below or Open Division (4.0+)


Participants must be available for Saturday and Sunday but it may be played in one day, depending on the size of the draws. Everyone will play at least two matches.


One event – $25.00/person

Two events – $35.00/person


Please send an email to mntc@wm.edu to register. Include the event, division and partner (if playing doubles). All entries are due by October 28 for Singles and November 11 for Doubles.

Osher Institute Sessions


We are thankful for a great 6-week session with our William & Mary Osher Lifelong Learning Institute students. They learned how to serve, rally and score! 


We enjoyed working with wonderful students who are dedicated to lifelong learning.

Court Availability and Etiquette


Courts will be limited November 1 – 23, mostly Wednesday and Friday mornings due to the Women's Tribe. We will be closed Thanksgiving Day, November 24.


Balls There are now designated and labeled tennis balls behind court 5 for use by members and players.

Tribe High Performance


The Tribe High Performance program continues to grow and become stronger week after week. 


Our players are competing in USTA and UTR tournaments every weekend with the support of our High Performance Director Chris Trizzino and High Performance coaches. We are very excited to see all our young athletes working hard toward their goals! 


Congrats to Sierra Vagi (pictured right) for finishing #1 in the Mid-Atlantic and #70 in the nation for Girls 14's.


Congratulations to John Sunstone who won the Boys 12 L5 without losing a single game. 


Congratulations to Sabrina Sukman who won a Girls L7. 


Congratulations to Paisley Hogue for beating the #6 player in the Girls 12's Mid-Atlantic, 7-5, and 6-2 this past weekend at the L5.
