Ron Present FACHCA CALA CNHA LNHA
Hello to all members, sponsors and friends of the Missouri Chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives (MO-ACHE)!

As Harvey MacKay says, "A great accomplishment shouldn't be the end of the road, just the starting point for the next leap forward." And since our last meeting, we have accomplished a lot as a chapter!

I, along with several of you, attended a great ACHE Congress at the end of March. While there, I accepted recognition for the Missouri Chapter's Excellence Award. Although the congratulatory letter was addressed to me, it really belongs to the Chapter and is the result of our immediate past Board of Directors. Thanks to all of you involved for making that happen.

The multiple day event provided a tremendous opportunity for networking, education and collegiality. I not only learned a lot from the education sessions, but also met with several College members that shared some of their chapter's best practices and challenges. The most common "best practice" was focusing on growing physicians as part of membership which is consistent with the College's plan. One of the challenges, like Missouri, was long-distance learning and networking when you have members spread over a large geography. However, we can't feel sorry for ourselves compared to Commander Gregory Freitag USN who I met at the conference. He commands the Navy Medical Corps for personnel (including several ACHE Members) on naval ships based around the world - that's a bit bigger logistics nightmare!

In closing, all of the Board Members welcome any suggestions for improvement you would like to share. In the words of Henry Ford: " Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success"

Collegially Yours,
Ron Present FACHCA, CALA, CNHA, LNHA
MO-ACHE Chapter President
