Happy Holidays!
What a busy 2022! It was great to see many of you at our annual meeting and education event during the Missouri Hospital Association (MHA) conference in the Ozarks. Our Local Programming Committees (LPCs) put together wonderful events throughout the year, and they topped it off with a very timely discussion around workforce solutions at MHA – what a great event! Our LPCs are actively planning for 2023 – so keep an eye out for our events calendar in your email. And be sure to register for ACHE Congress 2023 – it was great to be back in person in 2022, and I expect next year to be just as wonderful.
Congratulations to our members who advanced to Fellow this year! We have had nearly 30 of our colleagues take that next step to advance – kudos to all of you. Also, a special thanks again to those who planned and taught our first Board of Governors prep sessions to provide that boost for many of our colleagues.
As we head into the holidays, I am very grateful for the many volunteers that make our chapter run. Our LPCs, membership committee, and communications committee are just a few opportunities for you to join us in supporting each other grow as healthcare leaders committed to improving health.

MO-ACHE Board of Governors Exam - Study Group | |

Over twelve weeks in the fall of 2022, the Missouri Chapter of the ACHE launched its Board of Governor’s Exam Study Group. Hosted virtually, eleven sessions covered each of the ten knowledge areas as well as an introductory session on exam specifics and test-taking tips. Study materials and session recordings were provided to all registrants. The first session was also designed as a networking session to allow attendees to get to know one another at the beginning of their three-month adventure.
Sessions were led by volunteer Fellows from across the chapter. There were 15 registrants with a dozen, on average, attending each session.
The chapter is thankful to the inaugural class of registrants for making the event such a success! This event afforded not just an opportunity to study but also an opportunity for early careerists to network, build a cohort, grow professionally, and be introduced to Fellow leaders across the state.
Many of the attendees were scheduled to take their BOG exams over the months following the course’s completion, and event sponsors are optimistic that the opportunity to study together has been a positive layer in their preparation.
The chapter is especially thankful for the roster of chapter Fellows who did a phenomenal job hosting each of their sessions.

ACHE Volunteer Awards
This Program celebrates ACHE members' commitment to the healthcare management profession. Recognition is bestowed at three levels, based on a range of specific volunteer activities that demonstrate leadership and contributions to professional excellence. The ACHE Volunteer Recognition Program is based on points accrued through volunteer activities performed in a convocation year (April-March). Leaders do not need to achieve a set number of points in a single year, but rather will build points over time. In that manner, members can progress through the three award levels.
