Anthem Blue Cross is the latest payor to halt the reimbursement of consultation services. Effective January 1, 2022, Anthem is no longer reimbursing for inpatient and outpatient consultation CPT codes 99241-99245 and 99251-99255 for its for commercial insurance products. Instead, providers will need to bill utilizing the appropriate evaluation and management (E/M) procedure code that describes the office visit, hospital care, nursing facility care, home service or domiciliary/rest home care.

Exact Sciences announced that the ONCOTYPE MAPTM PAN-CANCER TISSUE TEST, is now available for Medi-Cal and Medicare patients. ONCOTYPE MAPTM Pan-Cancer Tissue Test is a rapid CGP test that helps guide therapy selection for patients with solid tumors. This test Utilizing minimal tumor tissue, the test identifies actionable genomic alterations within 3-5 business days*, allowing physicians to discuss treatment options with their patients in a timely manner.

Kite, a Gilead Company, announced that the FDA approved Yescarta® (axicabtagene ciloleucel) CAR T-cell therapy for adult patients with large B-cell lymphoma that is refractory to first-line chemoimmunotherapy or that relapses within 12 months of first-line chemoimmunotherapy. It is not indicated for the treatment of patients with primary central nervous system lymphoma.

CTI BioPharma Corp. announced that the FDA approved VONJO (pacritinib) for the treatment of adults with intermediate or high-risk primary or secondary (post-polycythemia vera or post-essential thrombocythemia) myelofibrosis with a platelet count below 50 × 109/L. VONJO is a novel oral kinase inhibitor with specificity for JAK2 and IRAK1, without inhibiting JAK1. The recommended dosage of VONJO is 200 mg orally twice daily. VONJO is the first approved therapy that specifically addresses the needs of patients with cytopenic myelofibrosis.
