MOASC News
The national TV show Matter of Fact w/ Soledad O'Brien is interested in exploring the stigma of cancer in Asian Americans. MOASC member, The Oncology Institute of Hope and Innovation in LA is already being interviewed regarding the Chinese American community.
However, they are hoping to find one other Southern California practice that treats another community (e.g. Vietnamese, Korean) to add more to the story. The show is looking for an Asian American doctor who treats patients of the same ethnicity. They, and their patients, can be American-born or an immigrant but dealing not only with cancer but stigma as well. Any representative Asian nation is being solicited, ranging from Near Asia to Far Asia, as the show is seeking a variety of stories. If you are interested or have any questions, please contact:
Aaron Cohen, Aaron Cohen PR, President, (301) 633-6773, AaronCohenPR.com.  Thank you!

California News
MOASC has been in receipt of many member questions regarding the brown/white bagging coverage under new Medi-Cal Rx program. The following comes from the Medi-Cal Rx Education Outreach at Magellan Health to MOASC.
If a pharmacy furnishes medication to the beneficiary and the beneficiary takes it to the physician’s office for it to be administered, then it would be processed by Medi-Cal Rx. If the pharmacy bills Medi-Cal Rx and then they deliver the medication directly to the physician’s office (on behalf of the beneficiary) to be administered then it would be processed through Medi-Rx. When the pharmacy acts as a supplier to the physician’s office then this would not be processed by Medi-Cal Rx. For more information about Physician Administered Drugs, please refer to section 15.8 in the provider manual and the PAD CDL.
If your practice is experiencing problems billing for physician administered drugs under the Medi-Cal managed care program, please contact the California Medical Association at (800) 786-4262 or economicservices@cmadocs.org or the MOASC Office moasc@moasc.org
