MOBILITY MONDAY

Message From Our Executive Director, Greg Stuart

The latest edition of the Broward MPO's Mobility Monday newsletter is here! This week we're gearing up to celebrate the opening of another completed mobility project in the City of Coconut Creek. The Lyons Road Mobility Project is part of the Broward MPO's investment of more than $300 million to create safer, healthier communities in Broward. This project is one of many within a larger plan to create enhanced bicycle, pedestrian, and public transportation access throughout the Broward region. We hope you will join us on August 26 at the Coconut Creek Community Center for this celebration where we will also recognize the contributions of Congressman Ted Deutch, who has been a strong advocate for transportation and mobility in Broward.

Broward MPO New Off-System Safety Process Finalized

Broward MPO’s new off-system safety process, finalized earlier this year, is a new program where the MPO will fund safety studies and projects on off-system roadways throughout Broward County. It’s expected that two studies for high-crash locations identified in the MTP will be completed each year, with a pipeline of safety projects in various stages of design and construction expected in the future. A comprehensive study has already been completed for Royal Palm Blvd. in Coral Springs, with implementation currently being led by the City. New studies will also begin later this year for locations in Sunrise and Coconut Creek. For more information, please contact Mark R. Brown, AICP, at [email protected]
