MOBILITY MONDAY

Message From Our Executive Director, Greg Stuart

Welcome to this week's edition of Mobility Monday! The Broward Metropolitan Planning Organization’s commitment to environmental stewardship drives much of our work to plan and fund our future transportation system. Last week the 14th Southeast Florida Regional Climate Leadership Summit brought together key local and regional leaders, scientists, and activists to forge our path forward in the fight against climate change. The Regional Climate Action Plan 3.0 highlights the connection between the implementation of complete streets, walkable communities, and mass transit with decarbonization goals. Urgent action is needed to prevent the worst-case scenarios and protect our infrastructure from future disasters. Regional collaboration and leadership are the only way forward.

BROWARD MPO IN ACTION

Broward MPO Team Attends Climate Summit

Last week, our team at the Broward MPO participated in the 14th Annual Southeast Florida Climate Leadership Summit where they learned about best practices and how communities are addressing climate change and transitioning to net zero. The Annual Climate Leadership Summit is a major regional event hosted by the Southeast Florida Regional Climate Change Compact to share knowledge, showcase climate action, engage leadership across sectors, and mobilize the collaboration needed to tackle this significant challenge at scale. The summit attracts innovative thinkers and leaders from the business, government, academic, and the nonprofit community to exchange dialogue and ideas on expanding the region’s capacity to respond to climate challenges and build climate resilience.

Help Us Plan Future Projects!

Help us shape the Broward MPO's community outreach efforts by reviewing and commenting on our Public Participation Program (PPP). The 45-day comment period is open until Wednesday, January 4, 2023. We would like to know what you think needs to be improved in your neighborhood. Do you think there's an area in your neighborhood that needs sidewalk improvements? Is there a project you would like to see completed in your community? Let us know! Your feedback can potentially be incorporated into the finalized PPP.
