MOBILITY MONDAY

Message From Our Executive Director, Greg Stuart

This new year brings new opportunities for the Broward Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) and all of our residents. We are in the third year of a historic transportation funding package from the federal government. If successful, the $30 million in grants the Broward MPO and our partners applied for will significantly increase our investments in safety and technology throughout Broward. This year, the Broward MPO will kickoff our “Route to 2050,” an update to our transportation plan that sets the course of transportation improvements for the next 25 years. We look forward to working with the community to shape the transportation landscape for the future!

BROWARD MPO IN ACTION

Broward MPO Route to 2050

Transportation Plan Update Coming Soon!

The Broward Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is working hard to address the transportation issues of today, looking ahead to 2050, and exploring new mobility options for the future. We are currently developing Route to 2050, an update to our transportation plan.

As part of this plan, we will look at things like how to accommodate electric vehicles, ensure our transportation system can withstand changes in our weather patterns, and improve access to your destinations by providing more options for getting you there. We want to hear from you!

Get involved in Route to 2050 and use your voice to help shape transportation projects. You will have many opportunities to engage with us before the plan is finalized in December 2024. Stay tuned for more details coming soon!

Safe Streets Summit Mobile Workshops

Provide Unique View of Regional Transportation

Did you know that the Safe Streets Summit is South Florida’s premier event for creating safer, healthier, and more vibrant communities? Since 2014, the Broward MPO has brought together policymakers, technical staff, and other interested parties to discuss how to turn Complete Streets projects from planning into implementation. Now expanded to include Miami-Dade Transportation Planning Organization (TPO) and Palm Beach Transportation Planning Agency (TPA), this conference promotes regional collaboration in building a safe and accessible transportation system. One of the best parts of this conference is the mobile workshops which provide participants with an up-close experience of South Florida's transportation system. To learn more, check out this video with of a walking tour in the City of Fort Lauderdale and purchase your tickets before they sell out!
