Message From Executive Director, Greg Stuart 

Partnerships are essential for the mitigation of climate change in our region, as they unite resources, experience, and ideas. The Broward MPO plays an important part in building and fostering these partnerships. Recently, we've been working with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) to implement the state's Electric Vehicle (EV) Master Plan and create a strategy for reducing carbon. We’ve also teamed up with the City of Hollywood to create our inaugural Resiliency Framework application, with the aim of discovering remedies for the current and upcoming issues along Hollywood Boulevard. This project will take a holistic review of Hollywood Boulevard and the surrounding area to develop a plan that is locally supported and build infrastructure that will last well into the future. We look forward to continuing our work with these partners and others to combat climate change and mitigate its impacts in South Florida.

MPO Team Participates in Pembroke Pines Bike Rodeo to Celebrate Florida Bike Month

To celebrate Florida Bike Month, the MPO Outreach Team participated in the Pembroke Pines Bike Rodeo on Saturday, March 11 at Spring Valley Park. Thank you to the City of Pembroke Pines for having us! We had a great time connecting with the community!

Federal Certification Process

Every four years, our partners at the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) undertake an evaluation of our agency as part of their Transportation Management Area (TMA) Certification Review. This evaluation looks into everything that we work on, from transportation planning and public outreach to financial stability and upcoming projects. Check out the Circuit "Sun Shuttle" Case Study

in the City of Hollywood

Our partners at Circuit recently released a case study highlighting the success of the "Sun Shuttle" in the City of the Hollywood. The shuttle is exceeding expectations and bringing in new riders every day! Since 2019, the City of Hollywood has partnered with Circuit to provide 100% electric micro-transit solutions for residents and visitors. For just $2 per rider, Circuit takes people anywhere with the coverage area zone through an on-demand app or by waving down a driver. Circuit's ultimate goal is to reduce congestion and its harmful effects on the environment and our quality of life. They do this by getting people out of their cars for short trips, encouraging visitors to park once, and by making connections to existing mass transit hubs. They work with innovative communities and forward-thinking advertising partners to provide fare-free electric shuttle services that make mobility easier, smarter, more affordable, and fun.
