MOBTS Oceania Update #1: Visas, Dress Codes, and Programs

Virtual and Hybrid Sessions
Our conference program has been updated to include more hybrid sessions. Please note that we are using five (5) session rooms labeled: Colombo Theatre, Colombo LG01, Colombo LG02, Goldstein G02, and Goldstein G05. (More on session locations below.)
While we will have at least two (2) in-person-only sessions during each time slot, we strongly encourage you to explore and engage in both the virtual and hybrid sessions. After all, for better or worse virtual engagement is hear to stay - so it is on us as a teaching society to make it for the better! Please make it a point to attend at least one virtual and one hybrid session as we will want to hear from you about your experiences in a post-conference survey.
You can view a map of our classroom layout by clicking here. In addition, you can view a map of where our conference is taking place by clicking here for Google Maps.
The building we are situated in (Colombo House) is off of High Street. For those of you staying in the suggested Randwick area, it will be a 10-15 minute walk almost entirely on High Street. If you're arriving from the USA or Canada, please note that Australia does indeed have Uber but not Lyft, so make sure you have an active Uber account if you're looking to get around town that way.

Conference Program Update
Just a few quick notes on updates to the program:
- All sessions have been assigned their session room names, listed above.
- All virtually presented sessions will be in Colombo Theatre.
- All hybrid presented sessions will be in Colombo LG01.
- Those that requested late shifts to their session times have been accommodated. Please view the program for any such time changes.
Virtual and Hybrid Sessions Info
- Both session times will use Zoom.
- Session links have been added to the program. You will utilize those links for access if you are a virtual presenter/attendee.
- Links are accessible by clicking on the bold highlighted title at the top of each session box.
- Those conducting hybrid sessions will utilize MOBTS logins already active on the computers in room LG01
- Virtual presenters will present to those physically located in a lecture-style theatre.
- Hybrid presenters will be in a teaching room and utilize MOBTS's 360-degree Meeting Owl system to engage with virtual attendees.
- In total, virtual attendees have 13 virtual and hybrid sessions available to them.
As a reminder, we provide you with our online matrix program and mobile program.

Social, Dinners, and More
I want to provide you with a brief breakdown of the evening offerings for the conference for those that pre-registered "Yes" for them in the conference registration form.
We have put a campus map together for you to show the campus footprint and locations of interest. You can view that map in PDF or JPG versions. We recommend you save this map to your mobile device. In addition, it will be located in the mobile program's "About" page.
We will post the addresses to the two dinners in the next email for those that are using their own transportation to get to each location.
January 31
-
Opening Reception: Catered reception at UNSW with light hors d'oeuvres, beer, wine, and soft drinks. This will be a low-key, informal reception so that we can network, catch up with old friends, etc.
- The venue is the Business School Lounge Level 6, West Wing Business School Building (E12) Gate 2 on High Street.
- As you venture toward the reception, please take note of where Colombo House is located (Gate 4 on High Street) as that is where general sessions will take place the next day.
- Following the reception it is "Dinner-on-your-own." If you'd like to continue conversation, or start up new ones with others, please review our dinner sign-up sheet and put your name down as well as any guests that might join. These dinners are not covered by the conference, but we do hope you'll join us after the reception to continue networking prior to two full days of conference programming.
February 1 - Dinner at Coogee Beach
- For those pre-registered for the dinner on Feb. 1, we will load up onto the bus at 5:40pm and will take a quick drive-by tour of the area around Coogee before arriving for dinner at 6:15pm.
- Dinner will run from 6:15pm - 9:15pm and will include a three-course dinner along with three hours of premium drinks.
February 2 - Local Pizza & Beer Dinner
- For those of you that pre-registered for our final dinner, we will be dining locally for pizza and beer. If you attended our June 2022 International conference hosted by DHBW Mannheim, you'll know just how fun closing out the conference with a "Pizza and Beer" setting was. This may very well prove to be a staple to close out our international conferences given it is very much fits our low key and informal norms.
- This location is not on the map, but we will provide you with those details in the next email.
Information regarding adding guests will be available shortly. We will have a limited number of seats available for guests due to each location's capacities, so we apologize in advance if we run out of space.
